Thank you Mary Anne. This is heartbreaking. All my family lives in Paris and I am shocked by what happened. Fortunately I was able to get in touch with sisters, cousins, and my aunt today and everybody is safe. One of my nephews was supposed to go to the concert, but his company sent him to Rome, Italy at the last minute. His best friend escaped the theater unharmed.

Eylea (not Eylasta) has one big difference from the previous drug I was receiving (Avastin) and that is the price: Avastin was about $70 for the dose and Eylea is about $2400 per dose.

Since I just went on Part B Medicare the copay would have been almost $500 per injection after Medicare 80% coverage so I had to buy the best supplement I could get to cover all copays. That costs $353 a month plus $30 for drug coverage. That is a big bite out of my SS check but if I had to pay a lot out of pocket my retirement account would disappear in short order.
