I'm motivated to meet my goals!

My goals:

Improve blood pressure
Improve cholesterol
Increase energy levels
Increase physical activity
Increase core strength and balance
Improve nutrition
Strength training to reduce (and hopefully eliminate) spinal disk pain
Have beautiful arms
Ab definition
Improve BFI

Through these goals it is my hope that weight loss will occur, but it is not my primary goal. ...

2009 was a very difficult year for many reasons and brought stress from many fronts. One of multiple positives that came out of the year was the realization that my lifestyle needs to change. Not temporarily to loose weight, but as an investment to my future and prolonged health.

Family genetics are interesting. On one side the women live into their 90's. A big contributing factor is they stayed active. My grandmother lived an active and independent life to the age of 92 - she walked everyday. The other side has a high occurrence of heart disease and cancer.

Though I have no say in genetics, I am determined to change my way of life as if it follows my grandmother. I would rather proactively make a change now, than look back and wish I had.

My Program:
Reduce calorie and fat intake while increasing protein and healthy carb intake.



Strength training three times a week. Cardio at least three times a week. Working with personal trainer three times a month.

To loose 1 lb of fat, I need to create a deficit of 3500 calories.

Personal Information:
I'm 49 years young, live in Seattle, very happily married and have two grown children.

Other Information:
Today I will commit to myself to be healthier for the rest of my life and stay active.

I will do this for myself and also as a gift to those I love.

About those eggs...the only way I know to get them is directly from someone who has chickens, preferably a friend :). None of the eggs you can buy in a store, even the most 'organic, free-range' taste anywhere close.
Keep your eyes open for the opportunity.
