Brand new decade, brand new goals
I am called Raffie and I've been a member since the end of May 09 now and have come on here most days to blog, log food or exercise and chat on the community forums. Its all very motivating. Or at least I did come on daily. Due to a change of circumstances and a broken arm, my weight loss and fitness regime went to pieces and then we moved to Scotland! Where it all went horribly pear shaped so we moved back to Norfolk, where I grew up. I am still a dog groomer, technically but I do a lot of dog walking now too, which is quite fun. I am married to KENJACK345 and sometimes he even logs on here. I need to encourage him a bit more I think. We have been together nearly 10 years, married for just over 7 and we have known each other for ever. We were best friends, where there was one in trouble, the other was not very far away. We have just moved into a 2 bedroomed, upstairs flat which is wonderful. The previous tenant seems to like sludge colours so we will be redecorating. Painting counts as exercise? Right? :-) We have changed church as our old one is 19 miles away now and a bit of a hack so we have been to Hope Community Church, locally, a couple of times and quite like it there. I have a small cycling addiction and have 2 bikes, a road bike and a mountain bike. There are barely any hills in Norfolk but the off road riding is fun and flat-ish. I also have a soup addiction, I love making it and eating it and have got this fat free soup making thing down to a fine art. So warming when I get in from a cold day's dog walking. So that's me then. I'd love to chat to other Sparkies if you have the time. Anyone who'd like to friend me and ask any questions about my life and where I find the time to do everything in it, is more than welcome too. Raffie

My Goals:
10% loss to begin with - 174lbs 168lbs - new tattoo 154lbs - new wardrobe Anything less is a bonus and we'll cross that bridge if and when we come to it.
My Program:
Its mostly riding my bike. I am very lucky as I have 2 bikes. I have a nice fast road bike that cost a fortune but I don't care, I love it. My other bike is a good Mountain Bike. It was way cheaper as it was second hand but it would have been over £400 new, so definitely a 'good' bike. I am a dog walker/groomer for a living so I like to walk quickly and up & down hills when the opportunity arises. I loathe the gym, really I hate it. All that artificial poncing about really doesn't work for me and I hate to wave weights about, even if I could afford to be a member, which I can't. Abs are boring and upset my back so its cycling and walking all the way for me.
Personal Information:
I'm actually Scottish but grew up in England sort of. Parents in the forces so lived all over the place until I was a mid teenager or so. I live in East Anglian area of the UK, quite near the sea which I like. Married to my wonderful husband with a family consisting of 4 dogs. We live in a static caravan as its so difficult to find a proper home to rent without putting the dogs into rescue, which is NOT going to happen ever. So a 30' caravan it is then.
Other Information:
I love movies, I love going to the movies and try to avoid the popcorn, generally a futile gesture though. I like exercise, reading books - especially Jasper Fforde and Agatha Christie. I work with dogs and drive a lovely old Rover as I can get everyone in, get across country - its a real workhorse.
