Since February 2007, I have lost over 20 pounds and close to 10 inches or more all over! I thought I would share some of my secrets and use this page to help keep me motivated to keep it off!

I started walking in February of 2007 on my treadmill, but when the treadmilll broke and it was still too cold to go outside - I thought my new found motivation was sunk. Then I saw an infomercial for Beach Body - Hip Hop Abs. I was hooked! I bought the set and have since bought a second set and am considering his newest! I haven't felt this good in ages.

My 'before' photo was from the end of August 2006 the 'after' picture is in early September 2007.

My Goals:
I have decided that I am comfortable at my current weight. Therefore, I am turning my goals toward maintaining and becoming healthier.

Since we picked up our new rescue dog: Snoopy, in October, I've replaced most of my workout time with a daily walk with both dogs. I have a couple of "loops" with some moderate hills for a little bit of a challenge and we try to really hoof it when we go.

I continue to remove items from my eating that are processed, and will be embarking on raw food in the months of February and March 2010. I'll be blogging to keep up on my progress and how it affects my overall nutritional health!

My Program:
See my Blog for more details...
1. 5AM - Exercise me and the dogs on a brisk 30 min. walk 5 days per week.
2. Since determining that I am Gluten intolerant, my eating has changed a bit. Still concentrating on the veggies, limiting the soy a bit and trying nuts, quinoa/buckwheat for protein or RAW Protein powder as needed.
3. Take a probiotic supplement every day to keep the flu bugs away - a Probiotic like PB8
4. Vitamin D - 2000 IUs everyday keeps the blues away.
5. Targeting 60+ grams of protein keeps me from feeling hungry

Personal Information:
My oldest son and I ride Arabian and Half Arabian horses and show them locally.

We are hoping to get him qualified for the Arabian Youth Nationals this year.

Thank you for your comment on the GFCF message board! I browsed your page and really relate to your story. Don't know alot about the RAW foods diet but I will be looking into it! One thing I probably don't do enough of is eat more nuts (always low on protein for the day). In a year I hope to make target weight - seems like forever from now but like you at the very least I want to be healthier without having to rely on supplements. Would love to know if you have a maintenance strategy or just keep on doing what you do!

Hi again, I wanted to let you know that I passed along your tooth brushing analogy to a new sparkpeople member today. I thought it was such good advice. I hope you don't mind if I friend you (you look emoticon by the way). And when you stopped by my page did you read my new blog "Is Typing Considered Cardio?" It might be good for a little chuckle.

I just wanted to stop by and say I loved your comment about viewing a slip on your diet like forgetting to brush your teeth. It is absolutely perfect! What a simple but ingenious perspective. You changed my brain on that one, thank you!
