Hi Mikitta,

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I have already gotten onto Ravelry - so many free patterns :-).

Now I just need to get some focus.

Yesterday, I started knitting a 'calorimetry' (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter06/PATTc
alorimetry.html). I got out my beginner's book and tried to purl for the first time. I couldn't work out why my rib looked so awful.. eventually I got onto the web and discovered that I have to move the yarn to the FRONT of the knitting to purl... argh!

Then I spent 9 hours and took the damn thing apart no less than 5 times because I kept making mistakes and dropping stitches. I now know how to pick them up without starting from scratch.

I kinda think that knitting is like meditation, except that when your mind wanders, you make mistakes! And - boy- does my mind wander! Still, meditation is another thing I want to learn and practice, so it will all come together.

I do want to learn to crochet too.

And I can't wait to get back to my calorimetry tonight...
