Finally tired of being the short, fat guy!
I'm 42 years old and have been overweight since I graduated from college. Started with just a few pounds and has gradually grown to the point of being too much. I want to be able teach my daughter that a healthy lifestyle is the way to go and to be in good enough shape to play with her all the time.. I've committed to a buddy of mine to be the first leg of a team triathlon in June 2010. I have to swim a little more than a mile!! Time to get to work as I have now only about ...
Time to get to work as I have now only about 8 months to drop 40-50 pounds and get myself to the point of being competative in an open water swim. UPDATE (02/01/2010): Well the "Team Triathlon" theory has gone out the window and my buddy has shamed me into doing it as individuals. Seems he's hooked up with some guys that are experts, so he's going through a "1/2 Iron Man" course with them, even though we're only doing an Olympic distance Triathlon. Really trying to focus on the weight loss so I can be ready to go outside when spring finally arrives and run. Don't want to try to run while I'm still this heavy. Working hard on the elliptical every day during the week to shed pounds. But I HAVE to get myself in the pool soon or that is going to be brutal!
