My Journey - God's Path

OK, so I haven't been on here for a while. In 2012 I lost 90 pounds following a high protein, low carb, VERY STRICT diet. Felt great... Then, near the end of the year STUFF happened (excuses, I know) and I gained a large amount of what I had lost back. Next I went through a period of the whole "woe is me... I'll never be fit"... the whole 9 yards. It seemed as though no matter what I did I could be successful for a while, but in the end I would end up worse than when I started.

THEN, someone mentioned a book called "Eat to Live" to me and I was intrigued. So, I ordered it and I could hardly put it down. I know, I know... its not like I was never excited about a new eating plan before. But, this one truly seems different. It has so much research behind it. I am currently out on the road on a business trip, and will be home just before Thanksgiving (2013). I just finished the book and am making a grocery list for as soon as I get home.

So, again I say:
I have been overweight most of my life, and have hated myself for it. I have also wanted to go out and work with my husband, but have used my weight as an excuse. I know God doesn't call the equipped, but rather equips the called... but I still would feel so much more comfortable at a more reasonable weight. So... after looking for and hoping for the "quick" fix that just isn't there, I have decided its time for a TRUE life-style change... and this is an account [and accountability] of my journey to where I believe God is leading me.

My Goals:
My husband and I are feeling the call of missions work. So, I need to lose weight so I can ditch my cPAP machine and my blood pressure meds!
Plus I want to be around to enjoy my grandkids as they grow.
I don't have a set goal weight. I am going to let my body decide that for me as I follow Dr. Fuhman's Eat to Live plan.

My Program:
Beginning the "Eat to Live" plan - and continuing it FOREVER!

Heaviest ever: 357 lbs
Dec 03, 2011: 307.0 lbs
Aug 10, 2012: 217.2 lbs
STUFF HAPPENED - :(
Moving FORWARD...
Nov. 21, 2013 283.6 lbs
Becoming a "nutritarian"

Personal Information:
We currently live in Bourbonnais, Illinois. We've been married for 31 years. We have 3 kids... 2 out of the house and the last one looking for work... and 2 grandkids with a 3rd on the way.
I have some awesome friends from church and from work. I love each one of them and they each hold a special place in my heart!! Without my husband, my friends and my God I would be lost!

Other Information:
Love just about any kind of music with the exception of gansta rap.
Enjoy reading a good book - when I can find the quiet time.
Work at H&R Block and love it!
So blessed to find a great church and have a wonderful church family!
