***** I've just decided to lose 10% of my weight at a time! ***


Reinventing myself requires a fresh perspective, the ability to overcome obstacles and dogged determination.

I am building up all of these things in myself.

I am dedicating myself to being the healthy, vibrant, caring, compassionate, amazing woman that I am and that I was meant to be.

I am exactly the person I choose to be.

Changing myself is absolutely up to me.

NO matter what curveballs life throws at me, I am worth every single effort to take care of myself. I am a keeper.

SPARKPEOPLE is a gift I give myself! The energy and inspiration abounds and overflows!

I AM D-O-N-E being the fat girl! I am done seeing myself this way also! WOO HOO!

UPDATE: Sept 2012
After a short lived detour working with an online coach who was so not my style, I am giving Sparkcoach a whirl. I'm checking out the 2 week trial. We'll see what happens from there. :)

UPDATE 2014
I am working with two coaches/personal trainers who are helping me to transform my life. I am learning to ask for and receive help. My life is changing, and I am the one making the changes!

    You know I just love the name of my team "Keep Walking With Jesus". It says it all! Walking with Jesus.

    Jesus walked every where and so did His disciples. Jesus set the example for how we should live, eat and exercise.
    He did not need all these fancy machines to stay healthy and in shape.

    Jesus ate fresh fish, lamb, poultry, beef, fruits, nuts, veggies and honey. Nothing was refined or artificial. In Jesus' day they didn't fry foods, it was baked or cooked over an open flame.

    Can you imagine eating like our Lord? Walking in His footsteps? Just think about it, treating our bodies like our Lord treated His. Wouldn't that be great!

    Be Blessed and think about eating Healthy unrefined foods. emoticon

    Look at your current eating behaviors and set some goals for change. Be realistic, and focus on short-term goals that you can accomplish within a few weeks. For example, if you usually skip breakfast, make a goal to eat breakfast every day for the next week. A study of the National Weight Control Registry shows that people who have lost weight and kept it off tend to eat breakfast every day, and eating breakfast may be a factor in their success. Write it down, and tape notes that say "Don't forget breakfast!" to your bathroom mirror, inside your pantry door and on your refrigerator. When you set lofty goals that take years to accomplish, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and go back to bad eating habits. Set one to three mini goals at a time and keep working until you have mastered them.

    emoticon Today, try to make a rule for yourself that you can only watch TV if you're moving! How about hitting the treadmill while your watching your favorite T.V. shows, or do crunches, lunges or other exercises to get your blood pumping. You can even exercise while cooking, waiting on the wash to get done, by doing leg lifts, squats or chair exercises. At the end of the day, check in on your teams challenge or wall post and let us know how it went! emoticon

    emoticon emoticon How many times have you or someone you know set out to lose 50 or more pounds, or exercise for an hour day for six days a week, only to fall off the wagon a few weeks (or days) later? Even when people have the best of intentions and or the willpower to set out and do something huge like losing weight, without a plan or a smart goal in place, they stumble along the way—and are more likely to fail. Now that you've been exercising for 10 minutes a day over the past week or so, it is time for you to set some fitness goals that can last a lifetime! emoticon So get started and plan to win!
