I actually lost weight in 2014! I lost a bit more than 15 pounds and that is giving me the motivation to keep going. Weight watchers is working for me. Using my Fitbit Flex is working for me. I need to continue to tweak some things, but it's working. I can't remember the last time I weighed this "little"! I am happy to start the New Year with goals that really feel achievable!

Below is what I wrote to start 2014. It is now June 1 and I am on summer break. It's the perfect time to start over and TRULY make some progress. Maybe this time I can get some kind of routine started that withstands the demands of school when I go back in mid-August! I am the heaviest that I have ever been. Now that we are empty-nesters, I need to do this for me, for my husband and our marriage and for the future grandchildren I will hopefully have! NO EXCUSES!!

I know, everyone says it at the start of the new year. I've done it myself most of my life. I don't know why I think this year will be different, but I do.

When I look at myself in the mirror, I STRONGLY dislike what I see. I wonder how long before my husband decides he can't stand how I look. I'm afraid my kids are embarrassed when I am with them in public. I'm afraid the doctor will soon tell me I have a life-threatening problem brought on by my weight and lack of physical activity.

I also want to look better in all the photos that will be taken in May when my son graduates from high school. I don't want to look at those pictures and focus on how fat I am. I want to see a bright future for both ME and my son! (Well, THAT didn't happen!)

In addition, my husband and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary in November and I will attend my 30th high school reunion in August.

My Program:
I'm aiming for 10000+ pedometer steps a day and at least 20 minutes of formal fitness each day

I'm working on portion control and eliminating pop (I did it before and I can do it again!).

I will also work on reading the health books I've purchased. Maybe I can actually LEARN something that will help me lose weight!?!
