I'm 39 years old. I've been a part of Spark People for about the last year or so. I've lost about 40 lbs! Still working on it, and pretty hard. I've learned so much, and continue to learn about healthy eating, healthy eating habits, and staying active in addition to the normal exercise. I have four young children who are at the center of my life. They're wonderful! I am divorced, so I am a single mother now, but I find that things are actually easier now. I love my life!

Fitness Minutes: 8,783

My Goals:
My health goals are to lose more weight. It used to be so I would "look good" in part, but now it is solely to become very healthy. I think I'm already pretty luscious :o)


My Program:
I exercise every day (I do miss sometimes due to time constraints, but it's rare!) I do one hour of Cardio. Three days a week is my own heavy routine, and two days a week is Leslie Sansone's 4 Fast Miles. Three days a week I do 45 minutes of strength training. I can see muscles! I'm also freaking out on my core! Upper, middle and lower back, upper and lower abs, obliques, transverse abdominus work.. the whole shot! It's working too...



Personal Information:
I am finally becoming comfortable in my own skin. The last year has been challenging and difficult as I really focus on addressing the emotional issues surrounding the weight and eating. At the same time, meeting those challenges, and facing the difficulty has allowed me to reap the rewards of a healthier Michele! My children are also getting on board. They read nutrition labels, and can give you all sorts of health information! Everything about our being is connected. So many times our physical bodies reflect what is going on inside. So it's important to address everything, not *just* the *things* we put in our mouths, or how long we exercise.


Other Information:
This is a nice feature. It's been quite awhile since I thought about what I like and enjoy. There is a certain level of guilt for indulging in much of anything beyond my children and school and housework and laundry etc etc. I like to go dancing occasionally. Not to bars, but to singles dances which are primarily divorced people. I find that divorced people make up a very interesting sub culture of people that get left out of "regular" society. So we all get together and dance, go out for coffee afterward and generally have a good time.

I also like to read, but lately the only thing I read is textbook for classes.

Shhhhhh.....Don't tell anyone, but I also love to clean house. I really dig it.
