Michelene's Fitness Adventure - March - 4 years 7 months on SparkPeople.

August - It's my birthday month! We're going on vacation in Destin, FL and then at the end of the month my youngest moves out to college. Big positive changes and I am working out to Focus T25.

June - Life changes - My youngest daughter is graduating from high school and I'm getting a divorce. The end of a 23 year marriage, selling a house, moving, etc. Working with a small group of committed friends to stay committed myself to a healthy lifestyle during major life changes. ...

June - Life changes - My youngest daughter is graduating from high school and I'm getting a divorce. The end of a 23 year marriage, selling a house, moving, etc. Working with a small group of committed friends to stay committed myself to a healthy lifestyle during major life changes.

May - I'm doing Insanity Asylum this month and continuing to follow my meal plan developed out of last month's 21 day Ultimate Reset. I'm dairy free, caffeine free, and sugar free.

March - I'm working on a new vision board. It's been a while since I made one. Lost a friend to cancer this month and it's a stark reminder to take care of your health and enjoy life. I'm determined to push myself to new levels this month and try some new things. My daughter just got Hip Hop Abs so that is going to be my new workout for the month.

February - I'm helping with a 60 day 10 min/day Quick Start group, and working on setting up my own Reset group for April 1st. I'm pushing towards my goal of being at goal weight or closer to it for my youngest daughter's graduation in May. My trainer conference is in August (not Feb as I previously thought) so more time to get ready for all those pushups, burpees and jumping jacks. Feb 7th - launch of my Women Living Healthy weekly care group for my church.

January 2013 - Goals - get myself back on track. The last quarter of 2012 wasn't that focused for me. We got Turbo Fire as a Christmas present so it's my plan to do that program for the whole month. I also want to work on pushups and squats. Last year I went to a trainer's conference in late February and I'd like to do that again this year. I know I need to amp up my skills to be able to get through that event.

September - going full swing into a 90 day Beach Body Challenge period, Sept 2 Texas Rangers First Annual 5k, Sept 29th Little Elm 5k. Workouts this month P90X2 as a foundation. Challenges - traveling to NJ on business the 12-18th hotel gym here I come.

August - 3rd year spark anniversary - new Team Beach Body Coach!

July 2012 - I'm teaching boot camp now on Saturdays for a group of women. Love that I've come so far that I can now say I'm an instructor. I'm working on continued discipline in packing my food and getting in my workouts even though I have a new corp client and my hours are way beyond normal for the month. I've incorporated 30 mins of walking and stair climbing at lunch where I work for the next six weeks.

May 2012 - 26th Dandy Walker 5k will be my 6th race of the year. Trying to do a better job this month of tracking my food and lifting weights on a more consistent basis.

April 2012 - doing the Spring Into Shape Challenge on SP and a 4 week break the sugar habit challenge with my Twilight Challenge team. Thrill of the Grill 5k April 21st for my 5th race. Starting eating primarily vegetarian in mid March.

March 2012 - Trinity River Levee Run on the 3rd, and Dash Down Greenville on the 17th - 3rd & 4th race of the year. Starting a new split routine for weights this month and will be incorporating some of my bootcamp training from my trainer conference.

February 2012 - Working on my Healthy Meals streak, aiming for 1,500 fitness minutes. Hot Chocolate 5k on the 11th. Check in with trainer on the 20th. Same goals as January. February 24-26 Empower Fitness Convention for trainer CEU's. Looking to receive my Bootcamp Instructor certification - watch out now!

January 2012 - Starting a new streak on SP - How many healthy meals can I have in a row - tracking on my "Other Goals" by days of the week. Started #projectinspiration with 2 accountability buddies. Look for the blog on The Daily Spark in February. Beginning studying for 2nd certification - Lifestyle and Weight Management Coaching thru ACE. Working on lowering my percent bodyfat and increasing flexibility. Jan 14th - Hotcake Hustle 5k.

December - Jingle Bell run 12/21 - still recovering from a quad issue so cardio is limited. Only doing upper body weights and physical therapy with slow walking. Starting as a regular blogger for The Daily Spark and will have articles published every Thursday. 1 CEU test for my Personal Trainer Certification - passed on 12/1 re: Impact of Obesity on the Brain.

November - 167.8 Personal Trainer exam (passed) 11/16, Trainer BREAKING DAWN 11/18, Turkey Trot 11/24. Still in daily pain from shoulder surgery in May, but getting stronger. I continue to battle with the same 2-3 lbs back and forth on a routine basis. Good news - I can maintain. My percent bodyfat did go down at check in during October and I'd like to see it go down again this month.

October - 167.2 - Got my CPR cert 9/30 scheduled to test for Personal Trainer cert test in November. Komen Run 10/15. Released from physical therapy 10/5 - woo hoo - long journey since May 18th. Counting down the days until BD with my Twilight challenge team. Check in with my trainer on 10/19.

September - Starting the beginning of year 3 on SP! 9/7 check in with trainer, 9/13 follow up with surgeon 4 months post op on shoulder - hopefully released to light weights, 9/17 Jail Break Run - first event with mud and obstacles - Starting month out at 166.8 Guest Blogger on The Daily Spark http://www.dailyspark.com/blog.asp?post=li

August - Month 24 - I'm partying like it's my birthday - because it is Aug 8th. I'm going to the beach! Woot Woot - also celebrating my second full year on SP on the 31st. July - Month 23 - 167.4 Finally have full range of motion on my shoulder post surgery but not without pain. July 2nd Independence Day Run at White Rock Lake, Lady of the Lake relay on the 16th. My quote for the month "You can have results, or you can have excuses...you cannot have both.

June - Month 22 - 171 - Had surgery on my shoulder in May and things deviated from plan. Working to get back on track. June 4th Firefly 5k - walking this one since I can't run yet. Rehab is my main priority this month. "You have to expect things of yourself before you do them. Michael Jordan "

May - Month 21 - 165.6 - Be not afraid of going slowly, be afraid only of standing still - Chinese Proverb. May 14th Head for the Cure 5k,

April - Month 20 - 165.8 Eleanor Roosevelt said "Do one tihng every day that scares you". She must have known my trainer! I'm going to challenge myself every day this month to follow her motto.

March - Month 19 - 167.8 - Know what to do - do what you know. First 1/2 Marathon on March 27th, Mardi Gras run on March 5th 5k. Wrote my first blog for SP as a guest blogger: http://www.dailyspark.com/blog.asp?post=th

February - Month 18 - 165 lbs - remember that seemingly small things can make a tremendous difference - like tracking your food. You are responsible for your results so take action with commitment. Feb 5th Tal morrison 5k.

January - Month 17 - 167 lbs - "The man who can drive himself further once the effort gets painful is the man who will win." Sir Roger Bannister Hot Chocolate Run Jan 15th Training for first 1/2 Marathon on March 27th. Completed first 15k on local track. Lost 1.5% bodyfat and 3 inches.

December - Month 16 - 169.8 - Running two 5k's this month. Ran my first complete 4 miles on 12/3 - working with the goal of doing a 10k in early 2011. 12/26 completed 7.2 miles run/walk

November - Month 15 - Impact...Make One! That's my mantra for the next month. Starting weight 169.4 - lost 2 and gained it back last month. Doing Susan G. Komen 11/7 will beat my last time. Strength one day at a time is all it takes to get this right. I have that strength.

My company started a 60 Day Wellness program and we are tracking our success via SP. I'm new to this and jumping in with both feet! I've lost 40 lbs and have hit a plateau on my journey. I hope to find the inspiration to get rid of the rest.

October - Month 14 broke the plateau for one day! Starting weight 169.4 - This month's goal is to track all food and print off my tracker everyday for my trainer - check in October 21st. Attempting to break 675 miles on my virtual journey this month.

September - Month 13 - Starting out at 172 and hope to break the 170's barrier. I'm currently enjoying losing the same 2 lbs over, and over, and over - not! Plateau be gone! Join my Twilight Challenge team and watch me bust a move on our virtual journey to Forks!

August - Month 12 - Starting out at 174.4 and hope to be down to 171 by the end of the month. Will definitely break 500 miles on my virtual journey. Fitness Minutes goal = 1,500. I'm a long way from the 256 I used to be and loving it!

JULY - Month 11 - Starting out at 176.4 and hope to be down to 172 by the end of the month. Will try to break 500 miles on my virtual journey. Fitness Minutes goal = 1,500. Check in with my trainer on July 17th and want to have lost more inches and percent bodyfat from last month's measurements. (done - down inches, lbs, and % bodyfat for 7th month in a row)

JUNE - Month 10 -- I've gone from 256 down to 180 and reached my original goal. Now I'm setting a new goal of 165. Celebrating 20 year anniversary this month and the release of The Eclipse!

May - Month 9 --- Winners Accomplish...Losers make excuses! I started a virtual trip to Forks, Wa as a way to track my mileage and have a new goal for fitness. Several of my spark friends have joined along. Who knows...maybe we'll see cute vampires when we get there!

April - Month 8 --- broke through my plateau and want to get that 70 lbs lost icon before the end of the month! AT 67 lbs down now. I'm planning on a new thing this month - horsebacking riding and frisbee. What new thing will you try?

MARCH - Changing my six month rolling background of Winnie the Pooh picutres - soft cuddly bear... to someone who challenges me - Dana Torres going to the Olympics in her 40's. Pushing towards getting stronger and leaner this month.

New Goal: 5/2010 - Do some new fitness things and enjoy life.

Aug 2012 - turned 50 and became a Team Beach Body coach.

Testing for my Personal Trainer Certificate on November 16th. = got it!

Currently studying for my certification for Lifestyle & weight management coach

My Program:
I follow the Clean Eating lifestyle and cycle through various types of fitness. I run, cycle, and enjoy yoga, pilates, zumba, group classes, swimming, racketball - pretty much anything now that I've lost 95 lbs.

I teach a women's fitness bootcamp on Saturday mornings for my church along with another trainer and her church.
