Michael Masek Weight Loss Journey to a New Life

After losing 80 pounds ten years ago, I am now back at the same weight I was before I ever started, but I am now ten years older and I have lots of aches and pains to show for it. I may have sleep apnea and even diabetes. I am a two-year kidney cancer survivor and it is time for me to get it together!

My Goals:
I want to lower my A1C level, get off of the diabetes meds and get my weight down to a level that I can stay with forever. I want to feel like I did ten years ago when I got down to 250. I felt like I weighed 150 and I want that feeling again.

My Program:
Lots of fresh vegetables and fruits, lots less rice, potatoes and bread, and foods that will not make my blood glucose levels go crazy.

Personal Information:
Houston, TX

Other Information:
If you do what you have always done, you will get what you have always gotten! Change it up a little and discover a brand-new life!

Welcome to Spark People!

Unfortunately I can't help with advise about the diabetes but there are some very good resources here on SP. Try one of the Spark Teams for diabetes, you should get a lot of support on the Team. I know a lot of people here have been able to manage their diabetes successfully through diet and exercise improvements.

Good luck!
