One more time around the block....I've learned one important thing this year - stress does indeed cause a weight gain. It's been a very stressful year. I'm going to cool it on the stress.
What I've learned from friends here that are really successful...
Small goals lead to big achievements. Learn, share, try, reflect, adjust, continue. And from the fabulous and amazing shrinking NEEDPEOPLE, "DON'T GIVE IN, DON'T GIVE UP! DON'T MAKE EXCUSES! " And, of course, there's a great community here that is always ready to encourage and support!
So here I go again :) one more time.
I WANT to WANT to exercise. While my work is active (I hardly ever sit down) it's not the same as cardio.
More vegetables and fruit, less carbs.
Elliptical - 30 - min. 5x a week ... but up to 50 minutes by Dec 2013
Try a new "exercise of the day: at least once a week.
Yoga or strength training 2 x a week
Just passing 60. I live in rural Southwestern Ontario. I'm a designer and artist and museum professional.
Art and music are a huge part of my life. I'm a printmaker and textile artist. My work often focuses primarily on social justice issues, but I also love to simply play and create abstract pieces.
I love almost all music, but have a serious weakness for the blues and for U2.

How are you doing? Are you still Sparking? I must admit I am pretty seldom on SP anymore, but I use it to track my weight and keep up with one group. But I wanted to stop by and say hi! I like that it's summer and I can walk more. I have also been doing physical therapy for my knee, which has increased the amount of walking I can do. A pretty quiet summer all in all -- except for my 30th wedding anniversary later this month -- we are happy about that. I have not dyed in ages! I have a lot of new dye colors I have never used.
