Welcome to SparkPeople. I am so glad that you found us. There is a lot of information here and the best tools to help you reach your goals.
I have been on SparkPeople since April 2009 and I have lost a total of 30 pounds since I have been watching what I eat. I track my food every day (good and bad) and I track my exercise. You can check out my SparkPage and see my fitness and food tracking. I put it all out there for everyone to see – the good, the bad and the ugly. It helps keep me honest! Are there days when I eat stuff that I know I shouldn’t – of course. This is a life long journey, one with many paths to take. I just have to keep making the right choices and when I don’t, I get back on the right path and don’t look back.
The encouragement and motivation I get from my Spark friends is amazing. They are always there to help me through tough times and bring a smile to my face. I have found that if I post something that is bothering me, within an hour someone will respond back and make sure everything is alright and offer encouragement.
Being new, I would suggest that you use Your Spark Points (click on View SparkPoints)as a map to the site. It is a good way to see what is new and a great tool for any situation.
and to SparkPeople and also to the SparkFresno Team!!
Usually once a month we try to have a Meet & Greet. So be watching for team threads and also SparkMails concerning it PLEASE feel free to jump right on in with the rest of us! You will be glad you did! If you have any questions about SparkPeople, please don't hesitate to ask either myself or Anna (CLADY326)... there are tons of great resources found on here.
Also a quick Suggestion, if you have a SparkPage, edit it so that you can have comments and also so others can see it. This will allow other team members to post comments on your page to encourage/motivate you when you need it most! If you DO NOT have a Spark Page and aren't sure how to set it up, please go to the team and check out the Short Tutorials in the Helpful Information Forum, which you can find HERE - www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_mes sageboard_thread.asp?board=1533x10127x 31526260x1xfirst If you have not done so yet, PLEASE make an introduction, letting us on the team know a little bit more about you, we would LOVE to get to know you! Here's the link to go there... http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/t eam_messageboard_thread.asp?board=-1x1 0127x30547244x1xfirst

The secrets of positive people
Positive people tend to have many similar characteristics, such as respecting everyone's contribution to a project and knowing during hard times that things will get better. They have the power to make that change happen, an understanding that their attitudes can directly affect outcomes, and a commitment to increasing positive thoughts and diminishing negative ones. Are you putting effort towards becoming a more positive person? Avoid complaining when things are turning sour, realize that the negatives and the positives in life will level out, and take responsibility for your life and actions. You are the only person responsible for your attitude--and your life.
