Today is a New Day for all of Us.

I'm 56 and have type 2 diabetes, so a healthier lifestyle is not an option at this point. With over 100 lbs to lose and bad knees, I feel trapped because there are just so many things I used to do that I can't do anymore. I need to stop procrastinating and lose the weight now.

My Goals:
Be consistent

Check BG every morning before breakfast.

Short term goals:
Lose 20 lbs
Longer term goal:
Get below 200.

Even longer term goal:
Get off diabetes meds.

My Program:
Low carb, 30 - 60 carbs a day.

Remove wheat from my diet

Approx. 1400 - 1600 calories a day.

Be consistent.

Stay connected with my SP friends.




Personal Information:
I'm a 56 yr old with 2 bad knees, 1 lazy cat and 1 DH. I absolutely can't wait to retire and move someplace where there is no snow.

Other Information:
I to like to garden, but the knees aren't in to it. I love my audio books (I have more than 200 of them). My background picture is all the fun flip flops and sneakers I bought and can't wear because they are too tight... well for now anyway. I will get to wear them soon.

THanks for the blog comment. I hear ya on the turkey sandwich idea. I'm not a huge traditionalist so I would be comfortable just having a bowl of cereal on thanksgiving. After all, I can have a big feast any day of the week if I want to, No need to wait until the end of November to do it.

Hmm, if you're salaried I guess the only reason for the time clock is to prove that you indeed came to work. But to have it on the second floor when the entry is on the first floor seems a bit weird!
