I want to get Healthy & Active!

Hi,
My name is Mary and I am a young 58 years old. I have some health issues and need a double knee replacement, but first must lose weight so it is all easier to do and to recuperate. I am attractive, except for this weight, and look younger than I am. I am married and want to play a more active role in activities than I can now as a disabled woman! I want to be more active and involved in life!

I am keeping my food tracker, cutting back on calories and fat, more fruits and veggies, drink water and increase fiber. And try to make healthy choices.

My favorite thing to read is historical fiction. I've also read some Maave Binchy and I have read The Memory Keeper's Daughter. I've also read a few Elizabeth Berg books. Check out my book team, A World of Books, for some reviews of good books, you can find the link on my Spark page.

The knitting thing I talk about is called a Knifty Knitter; they are looms which come in different shapes and sizes, and very easy to use.

Hi Mary,

Thanks for the supportive after my little "Pity Party" Blog LOL

I felt a little better after writing it, after I wrote it, it gave me some perspective that things weren't THAT bad....

But I felt even better after reading the supportive comments like yours. You are right too, Little Lee Louis can brighten any day... I was sad having to leave him to go to work. I'll be happy to hug him in the morning and he will give me some "free smiles"

I hope you are having a great start to your week! My next weigh in is Thursday. Should be a good one, I have been staying on my healthy eating plan, and I know that is 80% of weight loss. I do need to get more active, and that will be the next thing I focus on.

P.S. Thanks for the great tip on the question I left about egg substitutes. I can't believe I NEVER thought of using 1 egg and 2 egg whites- what great idea, great way to stay full, get protein but save so many calories and fats!
