2 things. First I love Metallica. second, after reading your intro. I want to give you some helpful tips. It's okay to be scared but remember that your not alone in this fight to be healthy. We all go through it, I myself used to be 263 lbs now I'm at 225 lbs. My goal is to hit 200 by my 30th which is on May 26th. I keep telling myself its going to happen that I will make it happen.
You can do this too! I want to help you succeed in accomplishing your goal. Be positive and track those calories. The food tracker on here in invaluable keeps you accountable. Seeing just how much you eat can help you in seeing just how much or how little you take in.
I don't know if exercise is a problem for you but I always tell people to pick something you really enjoy. ie. if you like to hike you can find a hiking group or go with friends. The key is to keep it fun and you will want to do more. The scale will take care of itself if you do that. And don't worry if you fall just pick yourself up and learn from it.
