Trying to lose weight scares me - the fear of failure, fear of the struggles ahead as I try to end my addiction to food... but the fact that I no longer recognize myself in pictures and that I'm starting to feel the negative effects of my weight gain scares me more. I'm hoping that becoming a part of a community will help me to overcome these fears, and to succeed.

I'm a married mom of a special needs 9 year old daughter. I work part time at a restaurant here in Mt. Pleasant. I love to go camping, and to concerts. I love hard rock - Metallica is my favorite band, and I also like Godsmack, Korn and Rob Zombie, along with others.

2 things. First I love Metallica. second, after reading your intro. I want to give you some helpful tips. It's okay to be scared but remember that your not alone in this fight to be healthy. We all go through it, I myself used to be 263 lbs now I'm at 225 lbs. My goal is to hit 200 by my 30th which is on May 26th. I keep telling myself its going to happen that I will make it happen.

You can do this too! I want to help you succeed in accomplishing your goal. Be positive and track those calories. The food tracker on here in invaluable keeps you accountable. Seeing just how much you eat can help you in seeing just how much or how little you take in.

I don't know if exercise is a problem for you but I always tell people to pick something you really enjoy. ie. if you like to hike you can find a hiking group or go with friends. The key is to keep it fun and you will want to do more. The scale will take care of itself if you do that. And don't worry if you fall just pick yourself up and learn from it.

Of course we will all be here if you fall to help u back on track. The important thing is your not alone.
