"Diets" suck. It is more of a weight management program that you need to be on. "Diets" are full of disappointments that make you want to rush the weight lose. Weight management programs consist of counting calories and exercising when you get a chance. You don't have to exercise that much. 2 to 3 days a week for 30 minutes of cardio and 5 minutes of weights if you don't have enough time would be good. You should always stick to "weight management" programs verses "diets" that are full of fads and even pills that are 99% false. With "Diets" the weight comes back. Yeah I suggest just watching your calories with a "weight management" program. They are easy to do and you just need to watch your calories. You need to eat at least 4 to 5 fruits and vegetables a day. You need to drink 8 glasses of water a day to flush your system clean. Well good luck with you "weight management' program. Weight management programs are for a lifestyle of losing weight and the are always healthy. Remember this: The more muscle you have the more calories you will burn so please work out at least 2 to 3 days a week minimum. If you can't afford the gym try to get an elliptical equipment. The best equipment that I know of that actually works is located here www.Orbitrek.com www.thane.com/products/fitness/orbit rekelite/orbitrek.php Yeah I have read on the internet that swimming and any exercise equipment that uses every muscle in your entire body will help anyone lose the maximum amount of weight in the time that they put into it. Please check out that link above that I gave you. I have one at home and I know it works. I used it a few years back to lose 50 lbs in 6 months. I am using it again, because I have to lose that much again. I am a lazy person that has the equipment, but doesn't use it. However, I will be using it for at least 1 hour a day for the next 6 or more months. I love my Orbitrek, because it is just like walking (easy on the legs and joints) and you never even leave the house. The best thing is that it is cheap too. I hope this helps people lose weight. Please tell me how you do. If you have anything you would like to tell me please e-mail me at my profile on here "SparkPeople.com". One last thing before I end this. Please take a multi-vitamin to get all the nutients your body needs and "Omega 3" vitamin to take care of your heart a day. That is what I do and I have read that this is the best thing that any nutrientionist will tell you. Oh yeah, please make sure you get enough protein a day too. Never eat red meat more then once a week (i.e. steak). You should be getting your protein from "white meat" (i.e. chicken or tuna fish). If you want to please buy a concentrated protein mix at your local Vitamin store (i.e. General Nutrition Center - G.N.C.). Have you ever heard of a "Monosaturated Fat" (also known as MUFAs)? If not, please read this article located here on SparkPeople.com. www.sparkpeople.com/resource/health_ articles.asp?id=799 Monosaturated Fats are what I usually have for a snack. I was told by my doctor to eat a small meal every 3 to 4 hours so I can boost my metabolism. I have also read in various weight loss websites that this is the best thing to do when you want to boost your metabolism. Make sure the snack are 1 serving though, because you will gain weight if you eat too much. Here is my weekly workout routine and my nutrition plan: -------------------Work Out Routine------------------------------ Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday: Do weight training for at least 30 minutes to build muscle so I can boost my metabolism and reach my goal of 165 lbs faster. Monday through Sunday: Do at least 60 minutes of cardio. That is 60 on my stationary bike or 60 my Orbitrek Elliptical. -----------------------------Nutrition Plan-------------------------- Breakfast: Mega Whey Protein Shake (That is 4 grams of protein that I add to water) and Oatmeal which I add water to. Snack: A fruit or "Fruit and Nut Trail Mix" (Maybe even two fresh fruits) Lunch: I eat a sandwich. Two slices of whole wheat bread, two slices of turkey lunch meat, mustard, 2 tablespoons of chopped garlic and a tomato. I usually eat a side dish like mashed potatoes or tomato sauce with cheese on top. Sometimes I eat Honey Nut Cheerios with 2% milk instead of the side dish. Snack: A fruit or "Fruit and Nut Trail Mix" (Maybe even two fresh fruits) Dinner: Salad with thousand Island Dressing and tomatoes and parmesan cheese. Sometimes I eat what the rest of the family is eating. They usually eat a dish with chicken in it. (i.e. Chicken rice or Pasta with Chicken). I also eat some kind of beans (green beans, navy beans) or corn. Snack: A fruit or "Fruit and Nut Trail Mix" (Maybe even two fresh fruits) ------------------------------------- For those people that want to listen to the commercials that state "Eat two bowls of Cheerios or a dietary cereal a day please read this: I heard that it works and I eat at least 2 bowls a day. I love Honey Nut Cheerios. It is good for your cholestoral and you can lose weight too. However, if you work out a lot during the day you should eat a more hardier dinner to add on more calories to get to your calories for the day goals or else you will be wasting your time working out. The reason is because you need to replenish your calories so your body can use them up and other calories that you want to burn. I learned this the hard way. An expert told me this after I was working out at least 2 and a half hours a day and eatting small dinners with no carbs. Therefore, my body went into starvation mode and the calories that I needed to eat were being taken from the muscles that I was trying to build up to burn more calories faster. Therefore, if you workout a lot during the day you should try to eat a good dinner that is not to big, but big enough to help you reach your calories for the day. Let me give you an example: White beans with rice and rotissari chicken with a fruit and water so you body can have all the nutrients for the night and burn it off while you are sleeping. However, if you don't workout you could cut your calories for the day down by eating cereal for a few times, but make sure you reach your minimum calories for the day to stay healthy or else your body will go into "starvation mode." ---------------------------------------- ---- I will add more to it when I get more knowledge from this website called www.about.com . You should look up "Free Information On How To Get 6 Pack Abs". There is tons of articles that a lot of people don't know about on there that teach people how to lose weight and gain muscles to burn more calories a day. Let me tell you about a few things that I read about right now: Before I tell you about the articles I know about I would like for you to check out this website that I ran into that is more accurate then SparkPeople.com "Calorie Calculator Or Anyother Calorie Counter That I Have Come Across. If you want an excellent DVD to workout to for an hour a day please check this website out: http://astore.amazon.com/jillianmich aels-20/detail/B00127RAJY/104-6904311- 9226339 It is actually ranked the number 2 DVD on Amazon.com. ---------------------------------------- ---- My words on Diet Pills: Diet Pills Are A Total Waste of Money! Yeah I have used Hydroxycut in the past and I think that it was a waste of money. I think that it messed up my body too. The thing is that if you stop taking pills like HydroxyCut you will gain some of the weight back and that sucks. I lost a lot of weight using it a couple years ago and I gained muscle from being motivated that with this pill I will lose more weight and gain more muscle. The thing is that it is like a placebo. Placebo: a sugary pill that helps people think that with it they can do what they normally wouldn't do without it. The thing with diet pills and placebo pills is that it is all in your mind. This people are right and everyone else that says "Don't waste your money on diet pills" is 100% right. They are a waste of money and I think that I would have lost the weight even without the pills. It is all mind over matter. If you believe you can do anything you will be able to do whatever it is that you put your mind to. Therefore, here is my analysis: Save your money for fruits, green vegetables, Lipton's Green Tea, or some other food that will help you stay healthy. It is all in your mind. I mean I worked my body out harder when I took "HydroxyCut" a few years back and I lost the weight. However, now that I look back at it I could have done it if I had more confidence to think I can get into shape faster if I workout longer and do more strength training. The only two things that "diet pills" do for you is waste your money and make you think that because you are working out harder due to fact that it gives you more confidence that you are not wasting your time doing exercise it is actually beneficial to you. I hope this helps. Once again stay away from weight lose pills and more a diet high in fiber and balance out the foods from the food pyramid. You should see some weight lose as long as you do 30 minutes of weight or strength training every other day and 30 minutes on a cardio or elliptical machine 5 to 6 days a week. You should take a day off from lifting working out and do some other workout that day like play basketball or just relax. Most people usually relax that day, because it helps the muscles repair themselves faster from a hard week of working them out. Thanks for reading this message. I hope that I have helped you realize that "diet pills are a total waste of money" and eating a balanced diet that is high in fiber is definitely the way to go. ---------------------------------------- --- That is all I know. I hope that helps. Thanks for reading this message. ------------------------------------- God Bless you all, your families and friend's. It is nice talking to you all. Thanks for reading this message. I hope it helps you. Your partner looking out for you like a friend. I hope you can tell me a few things about what you know too. Michael S. Lyons
