My Goals:
I've been working on maintaining my weight for almost two years. I still struggle up and down with the same 5-6 pounds, so I have to be pretty mindful and watch myself.

My Program:
I abstain from sugar. Being sugar-free isn't for everyone; but for me, it helps tame a food addiction. I also run.

Personal Information:
I'm a teacher from Washington state. I'm the youngest of 5 kids and I was born and raised in the Seattle area.

Other Information:
This is a quote I really like (not sure who said it): "Things go much better when you see motivation as the ability to give yourself the chance to make conscious decisions and take responsibility for these choices. Therefore, the main "enemy" of motivation is the tendency to see yourself as the hapless victim of forces (or urges) over which you have no control."

Congratulations on your successful weight loss and maintenance. Awsome job on your second half marathon! My next race is a 10K in April. If I can train enough I will run my 3rd half in May. I am recovering from surgery on both legs. I miss my runs terribly and have two more weeks before I can start running again.

I know what you mean about those 5 pounds of up and down. I have to stay on top it as well. It stinks we can never just be DONE. I run so I can eat. emoticon

Thanks for all of the thoughtful comments. I've been dealing with some personal struggles that have made me want to eat emotionally, more than usual, and everyone's kind words have helped.
