Healthy, Active, Balanced!

Hi, my name is Merritt and I'm ready to get fit!!! I have been active and pretty healthy most of my life. I do enjoy a little too much wine and chocolate, but I certainly eat my fruits and veggies. I have been living in Africa for the past 2 years and did not have access to a gym or all the foods that I would have liked. Now that I am back in the States, I have no excuses... Its time for me to get fit, eat well, and be the best me that I can be.

So I thought I would start this ...

So I thought I would start this new journey of mine on SparkPeople. I was a sparker years ago, but I really only checked a few blogs and tracked my food at times. This year I'm going to really get my Spark on. I want to start blogging for accountability and do this right! I'm looking forward to my new journey!

My Goals:
My goal is to live a healthy, active, balanced lifestyle.

My Program:
My workout plan:
-2 days of cardio (mainly running, P90X, or Insanity)
-4 days of weight training

My eating plan:
-Reduce my sugar consumption
-Reduce carbs and processed/packaged foods
-Listen to my body and eat when I'm actually hungry (not when I'm bored or want something yummy!)


Personal Information:
My husband and I just moved to a small town in Southern Oregon. It's beautiful here!

I love running, hiking, cooking, baking, spending time with the people I love.

Thanks for the add =) Your goals sound so similar to mine! I've always lived a relatively healthy lifestyle, but only this year did I get serious about it. I've been consistent for about 8 months now and feel fantastic!!! Good luck with your goals and let me know if you ever need anything!

Thanks for the comment! Full marathons scare the life outta me! I've always been afraid to run them. But after so many half's, I felt that it was time to take the next step. Let me know how the food prepping goes if you try it! It always helps me. :)

I go to the gym while starting for my daughter to get out of dance... who Jamie's program worked well for me. It is a lot of gym time...and i snuck in cardio too ;)
