At the beach summer 2011. Honestly, this is NOT the way I see myself! AGH!!!

Who is that looking back at me in the mirror?
It certainly isn't me ... at least, that's not who I see myself as. I still see myself as the little skinny blond kid I was all through school. Then I got married (a couple of times) and had 3 kids (and 2 grandchildren with one on the way). I took care of my family all through my adult life. Now I look in the mirror and don't recognize who I'm looking at. I fell into a depression some where along the lines. I lost sight of who I was. Don't do anything I love to do any more ... can't tell you ...

Don't do anything I love to do any more ... can't tell you the last time I rode my bike or played tennis. I love to do crafts, but just didn't have it in me any more. However, I recently started getting back into it again and love it. I've been trying to pick myself back up piece by piece. I started by going back to school to learn a trade that I always wanted to learn ... recently graduated and am now a licensed hair stylist. I quit my boring office job and worked full time at a local salon for about 8 months. Maybe it was just the particular salon I worked at, but I just couldn't make enough money, although I absolutely LOVED the work. So, I'm back in an office job (if you can call it that), which I absolutely hate, but the money is decent. Now it's time to start taking care of my health and my body.

My Goals:
Now that I've started on this journey and have read through some other profiles, I want to set some REAL goals. Although my weight tracker says that my beginning weight was 244, when I started THIS time, it was 241. So, I'm starting from there. #1 - get under 230 lbs. -7/19/2012 #2 - lose 10% of weight (24 lbs) #3 - get under 200 lbs #4 - get comfortable riding my bike More goals to follow. Would LOVE to get down to 125 lbs, but, moreso, want to be happy and healthy.
My Program:
I'm going to eat healthier, eat less and less bad foods ... cookies, cakes, ice cream, chips, french fries, etc. I did Weight Watchers a couple times in the past and had great success, but can't afford it now. I know the program and still have all of the information, so I'm going to try to follow it as much as possible. I'm not big on "organized" or "structured" workouts. I'd much rather be doing something fun like riding my bike, swimming, playing tennis, etc. But, it's just not as much fun doing it alone. Maybe someone in the area would like to join me?
Personal Information:
I was born and raised, and still live in south central PA. I would love to some day move close to the beach (maybe NE Florida) ... but if I don't start taking care of myself NOW, I won't be healthy enough to enjoy it.
Other Information:
I love, love, love the beach! I have a growing collection of seashells. Love to swim, play tennis, ride my bike, as well as other outdoor stuff. I also enjoy doing a lot of different crafts ... sewing, quilting, needlework, polymer clay, plastic canvas, and so on. I also love to dabble in photography. And, I love animals. Recently adopted a little kitten, Smudge, who has become my loving companion.
