I'm finally ready to do this

I have been struggling to lose 20 pounds for the last 20 years! I know, it's not a lot of weight, but as a fitness enthusiast who worked as a group fitness instructor for 10 years, it was always a hindrance. Now I am ready to be a healthy food enthusiast as well. I also realize that exercise alone can't do it for me. I have to eat well to achieve my goal.

My Goals:

First - to drastically reduce the amount of empty calories I consume.

Second - to eat clean and track the nutrients of the food I eat.

Third - to lose 15 pounds.

My Program:
I am cooking on the weekends so I can bring my breakfast and lunch to work.

I am tracking religiously to get a more accurate account of the calories I am consuming, and which foods contains the nutrients I'm lacking in my diet.

I am limiting the amount of sugar and sodium I have by avoiding fast foods and desserts whenever possible.

Thank you for your comment on my blog! The beach is Blackmans Bay in Hobart, Tasmania!

Thank you for your support regarding the blood test, too! I hope I get the results for my blood test soon! I seriously do hope that it's hypothyroidism, because I'm getting pretty weird symptoms! I have been unusually depressed this last week or so and I'm sure I put on more weight. I havenít weighed myself yet, but my clothes are a bit tighter. I have been eating more than I originally intended to these last few days, but only by about 50-100 calories and I'm well in my range. I burn over 3200 calories a week, too! I should still be losing weight, but I'm gaining weight instead! I don't think it's chronic fatigue syndrome because, well, I'm just not fatigued! So I don't know what else it could be! If it's hypothyroidism, at least I would have an explanation and a condition that can be easily treated. Once treated, my metabolism will go back to normal and I will start losing weight again. I will let you know what happens with the results!

Well, you know your body, and you have more experience than me (I'm brand new to this) so do what feels right. I think you got it with taking it slow and adding in the cross training! I'll be watching for updates! :)
