I'm finally ready to do this

I have been struggling to lose 20 pounds for the last 20 years! I know, it's not a lot of weight, but as a fitness enthusiast who worked as a group fitness instructor for 10 years, it was always a hindrance. Now I am ready to be a healthy food enthusiast as well. I also realize that exercise alone can't do it for me. I have to eat well to achieve my goal.

My Goals:

First - to drastically reduce the amount of empty calories I consume.

Second - to eat clean and track the nutrients of the food I eat.

Third - to lose 15 pounds.

My Program:
I am cooking on the weekends so I can bring my breakfast and lunch to work.

I am tracking religiously to get a more accurate account of the calories I am consuming, and which foods contains the nutrients I'm lacking in my diet.

I am limiting the amount of sugar and sodium I have by avoiding fast foods and desserts whenever possible.

Thanks for your support and running tips. The half in September will be my big one for the year. I am running on a relay team at the Delaware marathon in May (10k) and will then build up to the half marathon after that. If I survive the half marathon, I won't run another for 1 year in Walt Disney World. I am 48 and don't want to injure myself. I am going to use my IFIT module to train for it. I also am going to use my Runkeeper app.

Thanks so much for you comments on my Blog! Could you recommend a program that helps me start running at a slow pace to avoid injuries? I'd love to build up to a half marathon, but that seems so daunting right now! Any help would be greatly appreciated
