I'm finally ready to do this

I have been struggling to lose 20 pounds for the last 20 years! I know, it's not a lot of weight, but as a fitness enthusiast who worked as a group fitness instructor for 10 years, it was always a hindrance. Now I am ready to be a healthy food enthusiast as well. I also realize that exercise alone can't do it for me. I have to eat well to achieve my goal.

My Goals:

First - to drastically reduce the amount of empty calories I consume.

Second - to eat clean and track the nutrients of the food I eat.

Third - to lose 15 pounds.

My Program:
I am cooking on the weekends so I can bring my breakfast and lunch to work.

I am tracking religiously to get a more accurate account of the calories I am consuming, and which foods contains the nutrients I'm lacking in my diet.

I am limiting the amount of sugar and sodium I have by avoiding fast foods and desserts whenever possible.

Well, you know your body, and you have more experience than me (I'm brand new to this) so do what feels right. I think you got it with taking it slow and adding in the cross training! I'll be watching for updates! :)

Thanks for the comment on my new shoes! I'm loving them so far, and I haven't even run in them yet! :)
When you had your assessment done, did they recommend shoes for you to try out? It shouldn't be a guessing game once you have your fitting done. Maybe go back and ask what shoes would work best for you?
