The doctor said I couldn't run...

And he was right...at 122kgs the stress I was placing on my joints just with regular walking was too much.

But now...now, I've lost nearly 25% of my body weight and I've been given the all clear to start slow jogging and work my way up to a run. What that feels like to me is actually indescribable!

What I've learned on the way? Never give up! They said don't run, and I didn't...I walked. I walked off 30kgs, I walked off all my emotional attachment to food and the ...

I walked it off, and along the way I discovered a sport that I like which is also the natural step to becoming a runner.

I wanted to complete a half-marathon, so I did! I walked it! Never stop trying and you'll surprise yourself with What You Are Made Of...my personal mantra.

Saw your page as the motivator of the day and they are correct, your introduction is very motivating. One of my long term goals is to participate in a 5K run, even if it is a slow jog. I'm currently around 150 kg, still big, but I'm down almost 30 kg so far and getting into some exercise. For now my cardio work is all on a stationary bike, but give me time! Your story makes me believe in me!
