My name is Melissa and I have a lot to accomplish in my life, starting with getting healthy!

I'm a student nurse--graduating in May '15 to become a Registered Nurse! Unfortunately nursing school is unbelievably hard and stressful...and has taken a toll on my health. I'm looking to get back into control, but I really need support!

I hope to be able to reach out to other members and it would be awesome if I could help someone too :-)

NUTRITION
*Eat clean

*50% of diet should be raw food (fruits and veggies)

I'm from Western New York State (yes, there is life outside the city! ) I feel guilty asking for help and support as I'd rather be the one to give, but I'm hoping to start asking more because I really need it! I love discussing topics about holistic/alternative healing.

I know how hard it can be to balance school work and real life. I just finished law school and often forgot to pay attention to what was good and healthy for me. When you literally spend 14 to 16 hours a day on campus (and usually the same building at that) thoughts of salads and the gym can fall to the wayside. My last semester though I finally forced myself into the gym habit for a break and it might have saved my sanity! Such a wonderful stress reliever and it often would lift the fog sitting on my brain after reading for hours. It also helped that I could watch an hour of mindless TV while on the treadmill or other cardio machines. Dont forget to take at least an hour to yourself! Your health and mental well being is certainly worth it!! emoticon

Hey Mel,

Just stopping in to see how you've been doing. I"ve been kicking ass on going to the gym and getting cardio in but St. Patricks day undermined my diet a bit. Just a weeeee bit. I see your in the BLC as well, we are technically competitors but Im glad to see you are in the challenge!! Best of Luck with it!!
