This is my time!
When I first started my journey here on Spark, my main focus was to lose weight. I found that with weight loss being my focus that when I was stagnant or gained, I became discouraged. I decided to change my focus. Now my goal is to be healthy, to be strong, to do good things for my body. I started running in May 2010 and have completed 4 organized 5K's and ran my first half marathon on May 1, 2011. I'm eating healthier than I was, not perfect but a definite ...
I'm eating healthier than I was, not perfect but a definite improvement. I still have trouble with portion sizes especially when the food is so yummy! I want to make sure I start eating less of what doesn't make my tummy happy and more of what does make my tummy happy! Focusing on being healthy keeps the motivation going, because I can always find something I did that day that was good for my body. If I slipped up nutritionally, then I just have to focus on eating better the rest of the day or squeeze in a quick work out. It's harder to fail being focused on my health than being focused on weight loss. Weight loss is a result of living a healthy lifestyle.

My Goals:
To be healthy, be strong, be confident, be the woman I know I was meant to be.
My Program:
I want to make it fun and enjoyable! Motivation is difficult for me. I give up real easily. So I'm going to eat healthy and organic and make sure my meals are balanced. I'm a runner and enjoy strength training/circuit training which will be forever in my exercise routines (altering it here and there so it doesn't get stale).
Personal Information:
I was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs... As much as I love it here I wouldn't mind moving to some place warmer... Like Texas or some place beautiful like Colorado... I've been married for 9 years to a wonderful man named Tony. We have 2 fur babies; a 6 year old Pit Bull/Border Collie mix, named Duke and a 3 year old Pit Bull/Labrador mix, named Roscoe. Both of my boys are rescues. We've had Duke since 3/28/09 & Roscoe since 8/10/10. They are our babies! I have a lot of dreams and aspirations... Some are very tangible and others are crazy, but still possible. I definitely have a bucket list and am trying to chip away at it as time and sometimes money allows. The hubs and I are concentrating VERY hard and have systems in place to get out of debt (except for the mortgage) and that should happen in a few years. Once that's accomplished, that should open more doors to accomplish more on my bucket list since I won't be so restricted financially.

Win a little now, hold your ground, and later, win a little more." ~ Louis L'Amour
