The start to a new journey......

I have a husband who loves me unconditionally however if I am not happy with me then Ican not expect him to be completly happy either. I am on spark peopl to get eh support from others struggling to lose weight as well, I am hoping that the motivation and support will help me stay on track this time. I have tried weight watchers, atkins, south beach and so many other diets but with no luck or I lost weight but then it all came back. I am committed this time and willing to try anything. Hope to meet lots of new friends and people on the site.

My Goals:
My first goal would be to lose at least 100 lbs. by summer of 2009

My second goal is to become healthy and get my diabetes under control

My third goal would be to be ablt to take a long walk to the park with my neices and nephews without having to take zillions of breather breaks

Another goal would be to be able to go to a restaurant with my husband or family without worrying if they have seats wide enough for me to sit. I would also like to go to the movies with my husband instead of renting and staying home.

My Program:
Things I am doing to maintain my goals are drinking 8 glasses of water a day, walk no less then 10 minutes aminutes a day, switching off with a cardio workout. I also do some tae-bo at times, I am eating healthier while keeping my portions smaller. I am keeping track of my calorie intake as well as my sodium intake, I am trying to make more homemade meals rather then buying canned foods and soups that have tons of sodium in them. I am also going to cut out the carbs that I intake because it is as if carbs are my bestfriend.

Hello from another Melissa. :) I'm with you on the healthier, happier with me kick. I have had a lot of changes in the past few years. Divorce in progress and I am so tired of being lonely but I know I can't expect others to love me if I'm not too happy with me. So with a change of attitude I'm back at Spark to get so more weight off. I managed 15 lbs loss in 2008 with a lot of up and downs. 2009 is going to be a much better year. I am taking care of ME and making my priorities for me much higher. I want to be a great roll model for my daughter and I want her to have a healthy background so she never has to have this worry. She is bright and outgoing and I know what weight gain does to a teen. :(
