I think I need to find a name for my bike.

Hit the dreaded 50 and feel my mortality, but worse, feel an overweight, painful old age coming on first. I need to change, if not now, then I never will and I'll be one of those old ladies waddling along with aching joints.
I currently clean in a private school, and that's the most exercise I get, which isn't nothing but I still snack too much. And I need to improve my suppleness or I'll seize up. Losing weight will mean less weight to lug around which means I'll move faster, and so on.
To be able to just run when I feel like it and not be burning and wheezing after a few feet. To get my belly off my lap. To get down to a size 14 (currently 18 top 16 bottom) so I can choose from chic goth clothes. To lose weight to take the stress off my knees . To prove that I can lose weight, and to change how I eat so that I don't suffer so much when I get old. To keep my health up so that I CAN get old!
I've already cut out snacking between meals, sweets, chocolate and biscuits (except for Jaffa cakes on a game night). Drink more and more water. I don't drink alcohol anyhow. Keep on tracking food, now that I've finally started. To find more, interesting, exercise dvds

My partner doesn't seem to crave much in the way of food, though he prefers savoury to sweet. He's one of those who can eat a little and then stop. (Not that he is sylph like because of it! He has moobs and a belly, but insists he weighs only 12 stone, less than I do) We're off on holiday to Rome, and I doubt I'll be able to resist Italian ice cream for 4 days!
PS, thanks for the Alan Rickman reference, I think! I love him in movies, but I'm not sure I look much like him, lol!

I saw your comment about your partner not craving sweet things and being clueless about it and offering you chocolate.
Does he crave salty things and tries to eat less bags of chips? If so, maybe you can use that. Or you can use the alcoholic analogy? Or have him read the article about food addictions or some other info on it? Just brain storming ideas to help you help him at least get it intellectually if not emotionally. *hugs*
