My Goals:
In 2003 I graduated from college, a friend of mine and I decided to go on a cruise. I worked hard on Jenny Craig and I got down to 145. I liked the way I looked in clothes, I liked the way I looked in pics. I was happy with my appearnce. I wanst skinny but I looked healthy and I thought that that was a weight I could maintain. I cant tell you what happened, there is now reason for itbut Ive gained 20 lbs I found a great guy and we have been having a blast and when I have a blast whatever food is offered is fine by me. I dont want to be a buzz kill and pick the cheese off the pizza or always eating salads. The other thing is I got a new job in a hospital where gratefull pts give gifts of candy and pastries. I work 12 hr days and my will power is just not that good!

My Program:
drink water, portion control, exercise daily. gonna get the 30 day shred tape this week I have heard good things. say no to candy. I usually eat well during the day its the sweets and the times out or when Im not preparing the food that gets me in trouble

Personal Information:
my name is Melissa and I am from Mass. I have been battling my weight since my preteens. I lost alot of weight after highschool but I have slowly put it on over the years. I have tried Jenny Craig,Weight Watchers, slimfast I have some success but then I always slowly gain it back. I am sick of paying for someone to tell me what to eat and what to do amd have the results be fleeting, I found this site and I am motivated to make life long changes with myself at the wheel!

Other Information:
A friend of mine and I participated in the Boston Marathon this year. We completed it! It wasnt easy and it wasnt pretty but now everything in comparisson is gravy. I am now training for a mud hog race in August. 5-6 miles of walking/biking and a crawl through the giant mud pit at the end. I need to work on my speed! I had sworn I would never run again once I saw the finish line of the marathon. I guess you should never say never!

Welcome to the EE team!!

Iíve belonged to a lot of teams here on spark-- i really do believe that the Emotional Eaters team is one of the very best, itís a great group of people- very supportive and encouraging-- and it is very refreshing to talk with people who "get" what you're going through!!

Check out the main page of the EE team- there are ďstickiedĒ topics you may be interested in to get involved- a buddy thread, a place to introduce yourself, weigh-in challenge, a birthday post.

Spark has a lot of great tools, and you will learn which ones work best for you. The best tools are the people tho, always willing to lend a hand, an ear, or a shoulder. Iíve been here for over a year now, and I still am overwhelmed, every day, by the kindness and goodness of others on this team!! That has made a world of difference for me. I hope you have the same success!

~~best of luck to you on all of your goals!!!

I'm so very glad that you've joined the Emotional Eaters Team. The team is a place where you can vent. And where you will receive some awesome support. Of course, I am biased ... it's a great team! I hope you find exactly what you are looking for! Welcome to the team!

Be sure to ask questions if you have them ... someone will likely have the answer. Use the tools SparkPeople provides. They are invaluable. If you feel an emotional eating attack coming on, come to the boards first. Write about it instead of pushing the feelings away with food. We're here for you!

Eat well, journey well,
Cathy emoticon
