One step at a time

After my divorce, I gained a HUGE amount of weight very quickly (within a month!!). I have lost and gained over and over, but have not yet been able to keep it off. Getting started seems to be the hardest part, I lose that first 5 after weeks of hard work, then give in to temptation and it comes back within 1 day. I'm hoping to break that cycle now.

I completely agree with your doctor's advice. In the beginning of the year I started by adding one fruit and one veggie every day, and limiting my eating out to 2-3 meals a week, and let myself have one piece of chocolate a day. Now I hardly every want fast food, chocolate, or most junk, and I eat 2-3 servings each of fruit and veggies each day. It just takes time. :)
