Getting Healthier Every Day!

I'm a 35 year old single mom who's finally trying to get healthier and lose the weight I put on quitting smoking (years ago!) and having two babies. And the funny thing is that now that I've found sparkpeople, I'm actually having fun doing it! I never thought I'd see the day that I'd enjoy nutrition and exercise but I do! I just want to be healthier, have more energy and be able to watch my kids grow up.

My Goals:
My primary goal is to be a healthier me. I want to feel and look better and have more energy. My weight loss goal is to achieve a 22 pound weight loss by November 30, 2006.

My Program:
I am making concious choices to eat healthier. I keep reminding myself that if the food is something that I would not want my children to eat, then it''s not okay for me to eat, either. I am starting with the sparkpeople strength exercise recommendations and doing cardio exercises on a daily basis.

Personal Information:
I am a single mother of two young children living in southern Maine.

Other Information:
I love to read. I love coming up with creative ideas of inexpensive activities to do with my kids on our off-time. I enjoy playground hopping with my kids, but am not terribly athletic-so working out can be a challenge for me at times.

Hi! Thanks for the welcome on the Single Mom's team. You are doing a great job so far!! How often do you do weight training? I need to start doing weights - but I just haven't done it yet. Your sparkpage is cool - your kids are so cute!
