I feel like I'm the luckiest person in the world.
I try to live every day in gratitude
for my life as it is TODAY,
right now,
in this very moment.
I'm retired at 65 and still paying my bills (barely).
I've been married forever (48 years!)
to the man of my dreams (most days),
my high school sweetheart.
My 3 children are all grown,
as happy and as healthy as I could make them.
I finally became a grammy in 2009!
Now we have three little Darling.

I just sold my beautiful second home on the sweet island of Anguilla and moved from a little condo back to a three bedroom house (up-sized!)

I LOVE to exercise and meditate.
I also love to eat and drink!
Time to get rid of these extra 50 pounds that have crept up on me in the last 20 -30 years of living the good life.

As I was typing a comment, I saw another about your son - I am sorry about the colon cancer. Ray had it when he was 80.

Instead of typing what I had planned, I just decided to remove it and blog instead.

Huggers dear friend - I hope you have a Wonderful Tuesday!

I'm so very sorry to hear about your son. We just lost a teacher, only 43, to colon cancer here at Cushing Academy. The doctors did not tell him he would survive. They told him to love, live, and make memories, which he did right up until he left us. I don't think that doctors would give false hope, so take that as a good sign.

Ray fell Friday nite going into the kitchen and hit his head - it was bleeding and a large bump. The bleeding stopped quickly but I was unable to lift him by myself for where he was. Neighbors came and helped.

Saturday he was in the bathroom and instead of waiting for me to help him, he got up and promptly fell into the shower, causing several skin-tears. Again I was unable to lift him for where he was and neighbors came and helped again.

He was losing fluids at a tremendous amount thru urination. Every hour.
He was clotting fast. In 32 years he has always been a bleeder.
Balance was off and I discovered he kept falling backwards.
    Weak and trouble standing.

All the above are symptoms of Zero Gravity - and since they happened when I got the Zero Gravity chair I put them together and thought it was the ZG.

The doctor was gentle with us but explained that there are other reasons for the problem and they did stem from the chair in part, but not because of the ZG. More because of his age and that he has been spending so much time sleeping in one position. 1CrazyDog explained it better than me - in her comment. So, no Hospice right now and we are learning how to cope with the new situation. The doctor said the chair will come in very handy for Ray as we progress and it is helping his LymphEdema.

I feel that the longer I can keep him out of a hospital bed, the better I can help him.

I'm glad you told me you were confused - I am happy to explain and even happier that you have been able to advise me sometimes.

    Huggers,
    linda
