I feel like I'm the luckiest person in the world.
I try to live every day in gratitude
for my life as it is TODAY,
right now,
in this very moment.
I'm retired at 64 and still paying my bills (barely).
I've been married forever (47 years!)
to the man of my dreams (most days),
my high school sweetheart.
My 3 children are all grown,
as happy and as healthy as I could make them.
I finally became a grammy in 2009!
Now we have three little darlins
(another one on the way!).
I have a beautiful second home/
I LOVE to exercise and meditate.
I also love to eat and drink!
Time to get rid of these extra 50 pounds that have crept up on me in the last 20 -30 years of living the good life.

update- it's Oct-2010- on a one year plateau but not giving up- never, ever, ever. Every month I try something new.

ANOTHER NEW update- after maintaining 168 for SO long,
my weight crept up 1-2 lbs a month since I developed hip bursitis and I am now (June 2011)
hovering around 180.
9/1/2012 update- STILL hovering around 180...
9/1/2013 ....still 181...
Will I give up?
AGAIN...12/2014 ...182-4 most days

    Yes, share information! It's the only way we can learn to take care of each other. It's pretty crazy that doctors are either in denial about nutrition or they think that 99% of their patients won't listen so why bother, right? Anyhoo I am in the 1% that will listen and when I don't get info I lose faith in the health care system.

    The dandelion root tea is really working well and it was rather immediate too. I have Traditional Medicinal Roasted Dandelion Root tea on hand and I'm glad I do. Really, I think good old folk medicine is the way to go sometimes. I make a small pot of tea, about 1.5 cups, with 2 tea bags, and I have a small cup before I eat a meal. The tea gets the bile flowing so when I eat something, I have the bile in my gut to properly (or more properly) digest the fats that I am about to eat.

    The box indicates that one should make one cup of tea with 2 bags and have a cup before each meal, but I didn't do that. The first day I had one cup before dinner and I found that it worked well, so why not just stick with that plan and see how it goes. So far, so good. If I had followed the instructions I would be going thru 6 bags a day and at $6 a box (20 bags) plus the drive into the city to get more would not have worked for me last week. Also the box indicates that one should not use the product for any longer that 2 weeks. With some natural remedies it's true that you need a break. I encourage your friend to do research because living with an upset stomach isn't fun and there are a possibly a lot of unknown issues involving this very important organ of hers and it isn't something to take lightly, IMO.

    I also ordered some supplements from the vitamin shop - a digestive enzyme containing ox bile and a liver tonic. I have decided to purchase some books too. I found one online that looks very promising. It's called Body Ecology and it was written about 20 years ago by a woman who had a chronic case of Candida Albicans, which is what I have, but I originally found the book when I was researching how to deal with my "low functioning liver," so I will probably glean a lot of info from that book. The woman who wrote it has a lot of videos on YouTube, so that is another source for your friend to go to at this time.
