I feel like I'm the luckiest person in the world.
I try to live every day in gratitude
for my life as it is TODAY,
right now,
in this very moment.
I'm retired at 64 and still paying my bills (barely).
I've been married forever (47 years!)
to the man of my dreams (most days),
my high school sweetheart.
My 3 children are all grown,
as happy and as healthy as I could make them.
I finally became a grammy in 2009!
Now we have three little darlins
(another one on the way!).
I have a beautiful second home/
I LOVE to exercise and meditate.
I also love to eat and drink!
Time to get rid of these extra 50 pounds that have crept up on me in the last 20 -30 years of living the good life.
Progress Report (if I don't put it here, I'll lose track of it):
1/11/09 just lurking*** -2
1/18 started tracking ***-4
1/25 -0***lost 6 in Jan.
2/22 +1***lost 2 in Feb
3/29 -1***lost 4 in March, 12 lbs down!
4/25 -1***lost 3 in April, 14 lbs down!
5/16 -0 (after 2 weeks of increased calories)
***5/18 -1 !!!***
***5/19 -1 !!!***
5/31 -0 down 3lbs for May, 18 altogether

6/21 ***+2 (but SO worth it!)
6/27 ***-2 (easy come, easy go)

I ended up down 2 for Sept- up 3 for Oct-
recommitting for November.
November- who the heck knows?

April- yahoo!!! increased calories- down 2 pounds!
update- it's Oct-2010- on a one year plateau but not giving up- never, ever, ever. Every month I try something new.

ANOTHER NEW update- after maintaining 168 for SO long,
my weight crept up 1-2 lbs a month since I developed hip bursitis and I am now (June 2011)
hovering around 180.
9/1/2012 update- STILL hovering around 180...
9/1/2013 ....still 181...
Will I give up?
AGAIN...12/2014 ...182-4 most days

*Eating and drinking just a bit less.

*I will lose at least one pound per week when my body is good and ready.

* I log every single thing that goes into my mouth without fail- the good, the bad and the ugly!

* I exercise at least 60 minutes 5 a week ~ cardio and ST and stretching.

* I try to nurture my body and soul every day.

    Elizabeth, I can't imagine how hard it is to watch your boy go through this! It is a roller coaster that you all have to ride. Hold on to each other tight and, hopefully, the ride won't last too long. Of course, you are gonna be sad, and angry, and frustrated but you will also have times of joy, and thankfulness, and hope!
    I hate that you are going through this tough time! If I could say or do anything that would make it better you know I would in a heartbeat.......all of your friends would.
    You can safely share the heartbreak and joy of this journey. I know I will always be here for you!

    Yes! I came across that site and so much is free and very good. I got the books because I like to sit away from the computer and plan out weeks food. One of the best things I have taken from the Eat to Live plan - Dr. Fuhrman is to only eat 3 meals or even 2 if not hungry. That helps too but really was not possible until kids had moved/moving- not here so much. I believe I gained over the years because of all the meals I had to serve the kids. I did not get overweight from pregnancies but it snuck up on me from feeding the family I think. Oh! and wine/beer on nights out when I could get away! lol
