My name is Ricki and I've begun the journey. I am looking to lose (hopefully) 50 lbs. I am in my mid-twenties and unhappy and unhealthy. I need to lose this weight and get healthy because diabetes runs in my family and I do not want to get it. Plus I just want to generally feel better about myself, better self-image/self-esteem, overall health. I also desperately want to be in better shape before my husband and I start to try for a family. There are a few pics in my photo gallery of my hubby and fur-kids though. :)

I am about 5'9" with a large frame so I hide the weight well, but still...something's got to change! Most height/weight charts I see say that for someone my height I should be only about 160, but with my build, I'm not sure it would work. 160 would be nice though. I was 180 through most of high school, so as long as I end up between 170-180 I think I'll be ok. :)

Fitness Minutes: 397

My Goals:
My main goal is to lose the weight so that we can try to have a baby. I guess that's actually a secondary result of getting healthy and losing the weight. :)


My Program:
I am trying to eat 3 small healthy meals and 2-3 healthy snacks a day. Mainly just eating better foods and in proper portions. I am also currently using the diet aid pill Alli.

I try to stick between 1200-1600 calories a day, and if I go over a bit it's not the end of the world, just try to do better the next day.

I try to get out and walk with my dogs most days, doesn't always work that way though... :p



Personal Information:
My husband and I got married in May '05. I live in Southwestern Kansas. We have no kids unless you count fur-kids, 2 dogs, 4 cats.


Other Information:
I like to play with yarn, read, sing, sew a little, and I want to learn to quilt. I'd LOVE to get into hiking...but where in Kansas could you do that... :p

    Jeepers Creepers, life is hectic. The holidays are here and we are busy, busy, busy. I've had very little time for SP but I'm just trying to maintain my weight. I'll worry about losing more after all the chaos! Hope you're still on track, too. Give me an update soon!
