Becoming the "New Me"

My weight loss journey began in January 2013. I was 41 years old and was heavier than I had ever been. My health was begiing to be affected. I was started on blood pressure medication and had prediabetes. I woke up every morning with pain in my muscles and joints. I knew I had to make a change or things would only get worse. I also wanted to set a good example for my three daughters and return to the woman my husband married 21 years earlier. So, I made a promise to myself, came up ...
My weight loss journey began in January 2013. I was 41 years old and was heavier than I had ever been. My health was begiing to be affected. I was started on blood pressure medication and had prediabetes. I woke up every morning with pain in my muscles and joints. I knew I had to make a change or things would only get worse. I also wanted to set a good example for my three daughters and return to the woman my husband married 21 years earlier. So, I made a promise to myself, came up with a plan, and committed to it.

Here I am, almost 2 years later and I am down 68 lbs....almost to my goal weight. I have committed to this lifestyle change. With the support of weight watchers, sparkpeople, and fitness routines I have made it this far. I have run two 5ks and plan to do more. I have gone from a size 18/20 to a size 12! I wake up in the morning pain free and my blood pressure has normalized. I have promised myself that even though I may have rough, tempting days at times, it is only temporary and it will pass. I will get through it and jump right back on track immediately. We all have weak moments, and its okay as long as we dont let them take control of us.

I am proud to be where I am today and I hope that my story will inspire someone else to take that first step! I am a work in progress!

My Program:
I will definitely be tracking my daily intake and fitness. I have found that these have been keys to success for me in the past. Staying within a certain calorie range will be a real eye opener for me, but here goes nothin'!

Thanks for adding me Ruthanne. It is nice to be able to find motivation from the success of others. I hope that I can reach my goal by the end of next summer. This week I started the Dukan Diet. It has been quite a difficult objective for me, but it's getting easier with each day. :) emoticon

emoticon So, I have been away from Spark for a while now and I think I am ready to try to get back on track. Looking for motivation by reading success stories...WOW! What amazing people are on this site! I hope I can be as successful as everyone else! Ready or not, I need to make a positive change for me. Changing a lifetime of bad habits is one of the hardest things I will ever do. It's even harder than being a mom! Ready, set, here I go! :)
