I'm a newbie to both online communities and online dieting. I've always had trouble managing my weight, and relied on regular exercise and strict eating to keep it in check. Unfortunately, I lost all that will power during a stressful period 5 years ago, and I haven't been able to get it back. I'm hoping I can find motivational support and tools to help me stick to a healthy diet and weight loss program for the long term.

My Goals:
I missed my first "short term" goal is to lose 15 pounds in my first 50 days on Spark. Now I'm shooting for 15 pounds in my second 50 days. My long term goal is lose 40 pounds and feel better about getting back to the healthier, happier me.

My Program:
Exercising as much as possible-- ideally at least 6 days/week.

Using the Spark nutrition page to track my calories.

Thanks for your comment on my recent blog! I feel good about where I'm at (not being up pound-wise but feeling recommitted and refocused). I jumped on my bike and cranked up the intesity both yesterday and this morning. I also took my dog out last night. We went for 2 mile walk and we even jogged a couple of bursts along the way to get my heart rate up. We can do this! Just gotta keep moving - and that is one thing I am very proud of . . . I've been struggling a bit, but I've kept at this for over a year! Every other time I would have given up. SparkPeople and friends like you keep me thinking about it and moving toward my ultimate goal!! THANKS!!!

Thanks for the Spark Goodie! I had the darnedest time coming up with a new name so I am glad you liked it. I can't believe how many Monicas there are out there...sheesh!

Hopefully we can do a "complete" hike together soon. I love our talks along the way. They make the hike fly by!

People will tell you that muscle weighs more than fat so if you weight it staying steady and you've been working out extra and really measuring and calculating everything correctly, that could be it. I never liked that answer myself - LOL! But perhaps that true and what is happening with you. Keep in touch and let me know how that Body Bugg is working out for you. I was considering buying one too during my long plateau last year. So I'm very interested in how that works for you. Have a good Wednesday!! emoticon

H!!!!! I'm LOVING my bodybugg and digital display. You will love the dd! I have been spendin most of my time on the bodybugg Facebook page, you should come over there. The support is wonderful and it's so much fun. I am doing all my food logging on the bodybugg site and visit SP every couple of days or so. I try to log in here everyday, but seriously the bb is the best investment I have ever made.
