Back to the Old Me

Hey- I'm a 31 yr old woman originally from southeast Mass, and moved to Myrtle Beach, SC in September '08. I have been married for 9 years to an amazing man. I work as a kindergarten assistant 'by day'. I also am a make-up artist, actress & aspiring model. I have been cast as the start of a locally produced film, set to begin production in April 2011! It is a dream come true, and I am beyond excited!!

It is a dream come true, and I am beyond excited!!

In Nov. '04 I decided to start losing weight finally when my scale was somewhere about 325-350lb! I have had some rough patches along the way, but five years later, I am still a hundred-ish pounds down, and am finally poised to finish up this weight loss to hopefully start a family soon.

*October '08 - I added this as a blog, but it sums up how I'm feeling lately:
So - With this move and all, and the 'no job' thing still, I have been pretty harsh on myself lately. I've had a bit of the blues, and am still not in a regular routine with exercise. I am getting better at just getting off my butt to go out for a walk, and then lifting some weights after, so it's a start again. I suppose I just frustrated at myself when my fellow sparklers send me messages about how motivating I am, when I'm not feeling particularly motivated right now. I am not a lazy person, but just have not given myself the effort that I know I am capable of and deserve. Feeling a bit lonely down here in a new place, and haven't met anyone my age yet, let alone someone who is on the same page w/fitness or nutrition. Just looking to kick it up. I had set some weight loss goals earlier in the year, and did not meet them. I had "expected" to have reached a first big goal (160lb) on my anniversary last week (10/20), but have basically been the same since the summer (and know, w/out weighing myself) that I have put a bit of weight back on. So, what to do now? I am just trying to continue to start each day healthy, and plan what I eat. It's hard to try to feel "normal", and then it backfire and end up as more overeating. I dunno...just looking to feel that same fire I did last fall when I got cut from Biggest Loser.

*Updates as of December '09: I did finally update my above bio. Things are better, and I am in a better place, and finally have begun realizing my talent, beauty and passion at *this* weight, meaning every day I am worth it, and I cannot worry about how much I weighed 5 years ago...3 years ago...even 18 months ago. I am being the best I can be each day.

My Program:
I love to work out now!

Since I have moved, I am totally in need of finding a new workout schedule. I have a gym I can workout in at my parents' house, but need to find a Zumba class SOON!!!

I try to eat very clean during the week, and give a little wiggle room on weekend dinners. I bring lunch to work every day and pack healthy snacks.

My usual eating schedule:
B-fast is either 7:30 or 8am; Snack is an apple and low-fat cheese @ 10ish; Lunch @ 11:30 is a lean cuisine or dinner leftovers; Snack @ 2:30 is edamame or protein shake; Speckial K protein water @ 5ish; Dinner w/Martin depending on gym schedule; Snack around 8:30ish of cereal or oatmeal usually and a small piece of (70% or higher cocoa) dark chocolate

Other Information:
My husband and I love to cook, which can be a blessing and a curse. We can pull out some fabulously flavorful healthy meals - but we're also really good at making some stuff that will leave you wanting seconds or thirds!

We tried to start a cooking club last year - but it was a bust. Our friends really didn't understand what we wanted to accomplish with it. It turned more into a pot luck.
