Hiya! I think I would have been very miffed indeed to have to move from Hawaii to Texas. It's certainly a totally different environment, that's for sure.
We're currently waiting to hear whether the workshop my husband runs is going to be moved to Wiesbaden or Ansbach, or stay where it is. This move has been threatened for at least the last six or seven years, though, although now that a certain General has lost his wee battle with the Mayor of Heidelberg everything locally is closing in the next three to five years or has already closed. There are a lot of unhappy folk around, though, as Wiesbaden isn't ready and folk are being shunted around to places that aren't fit for purpose. Not good, but the terms 'US Army' and 'organisational skills' rarely did go together. (Himself is retired USAF, mind you, so he may be biased - supports the Army now, though, doing the same stuff he did for the Air Farce - ah, Force - in radar, radio and ATC electronics. In short, builds, repairs and maintains kit from 1953-present date and keeps things flying. Means the occasional trip downrange, which I do worry about, but it's small beer compared to those with spouses on tour for months and months on end.)
You'll get back on track! My trick is to work out how to make healthier versions of things I love, if I can figure out what goes into them. And stuff like the tins of fat-free refried beans and so on makes that a little bit easier. 1991 days ago
Hello fellow Brit married to a US military man. :)
Great progress with Weight Watchers, congrats on the loss. Last year I lost 60lbs but moving from Hawaii to Texas made me gain 40lb back. Not happy, but the Mexican food in El Paso is .... hard to resist.
Hoping I can match your stellar loss, and that you can keep it off and keep going to your target. :) 1992 days ago
