I am updating my page as we moved from upstate NY to Tucson AZ. I am still unpacking and have yet to start back up finding a fitness center or exploring the facilities were we are renting. I will miss my team mates and friends in NYState. The information that follows was where I was and the wonderful support group that I left. I am competing as a team member with a great group of women. Our program is called Dare to Lose! There are some similarities to the biggest loser. We meet twice a week for 1 1/2 hours with our trainers, have challenges and weigh ins and are responsible for watching our food intake and exercising at least 2 more times a week. Each session is 8 weeks long so there is a mix of newcomers and those who have participated in earlier sessions. There is a lot of positive support from both the participants, trainers and other fitness center members. We are working hard at getting fit and losing weight.

My goals are to be as healthy and fit as I can be at whatever weight I am at and at whatever age I am. Functionality and being able to do for myself and maintain my independence is important.

I and my husband and cats have recently moved from the Finger Lakes region of NY to Tucson AZ. I am currently unpacking and getting all the services up and running
getting of the midred things done that are required when you move.


Other Information:
Some of my interests include photography, painting, reading, bird watching,& gardening.

    Thanks a lot for your kind comment on my blog! To answer your question... I am not sure! I am very careful with Queen Ann's lace, as it looks extremely similar to the deadly hemlock, which we have lots of in the Paris area. So it could be one or the other! Both look lovely though. :)

    Hi Macye, I had hyperthyroidism (Graves Disease) that was being treated to slow it down until I had it removed last summer. One of the symptoms is heat intolerance which I had pretty badly. After thyroid was removed I was hypo and cold all the time until they worked me up to the right dose of synthroid. Now I'm borderline too high from the medication (which means my TSH is a little too low) and hot again but the M.D. wants to keep it there right now because they found a little "incidental" cancer in my thyroid. Keeping TSH low helps the odds that cancer won't spread. I didn't need any treatment b/c they got it very early- Thank God.
    **By the way- If you take a thyroid supplement, my endocrinologist said they usually have to make an adjustment in dosage for every 10 pounds you lose. If you are getting sick from the sun, and that is understandable with your move and adjustment, you probably should get your TSH and T4 checked to make sure the dosage isn't too high. Hope all goes well for you and I love having you on our team emoticon
