Christy's Journey

Like many others - I'm trying to make positive changes in my life this year. Last year was extremely challenging personally. I difficult surgery for myself followed by my child being diagnosed w/ cancer. Went from a healthy weight and routine, to a 30 pound weight gain and feeling awful about myself. Cancer and surgery is now behind us, and I'm ready to devote a little attention to myself.

My Goals:
My goals are to return to a healthy weight, and do everything in my power to remain there. I don't want to do anything extreme or unreasonable. My body is the temple of the living God, and I want to be a good steward of what He has given me.

My Program:
I am tracking fat and calories, and trying to eat fairly frequently to keep hunger eating to a minimum. Try to do cardio several times a week and weight training twice a week. This is the tough part w/ such a busy schedule.
I believe in occassional splurge meals so I don't constantly feel deprived. I'm trying to keep that to a once a week occurrence.

Personal Information:
I love being a wife and a motherof three awesome kids. I work 32 hours a week (started back to work when my youngest child was two) in order to send our children to private school.

My youngest son was diagnosed w/ Ewings Sarcoma October of 05 - and we had a very trying year - but thanks be to God, he is healthy and we are moving forward w/ "normal" life.
I desire to live my life to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. I am so blessed that my entire family shares this same goal - and we serve Him together.

Other Information:
God is faithful and loving towards all He has made.

I just want to say how inspiring you are with what you have had to deal with in the past year. I will be in continual prayer for you and your family. I can not imagine what your past year was like. We have a four year old son and have had a few scares with him but faith in our God gets us through each day!
