It's Never Too Late for a New Beginning

Hi, I am a 56 year old professional woman who has been a single parent for many years and with both children now grown and out of college, I have come to a place and time where I know I need to get myself as healthy as possible. I was always in good shape and my weight was normal until the last 10 years. I want the feeling of being fit and in shape once again. With Spark People, I know I can do it.

My Goals:
To lose this excess weight over the next year and to maintain for a lifetime.

To get walking more each and every day and then hopefully work to a slow jog....


My Program:
Eating 5 small meals a day

Drinking lots of water

Staying away from my food triggers (much of that salty junk food...)

Personal Information:
I currently live in Virginia but have lived on the East Coast, West Coast and Gulf Coast. Hope to retire in the next few years to the West - maybe Arizona, New Mexico or Nevada. Prefer the dry climate -- humidity and me don't get along!

Other Information:
I love a great comedy and of course I am and always have been a hopeless romantic. I love to keep up with current events and reading is a priority for me.

Thanks for your kind comments on my page! And congrats on all you have accomplished - 70 lbs is awesome and points out that it is a lie when people say you can't lose weight after 40 or 50 or whatever.. Sure you can - but it's hard work!!
