My Goals:
SO many goals, so little time. I want to:

* not be self conscious in pictures

* Don't obsess over the scale. Know there will be weeks when it doesn't move.

* fit into my old clothes (I have a fabulous wardrobe sitting in my closet, untouched) -- ACTUALLY ACHIEVED THIS GOAL! I love getting dressed in the AM

*make exercise essential to my daily life.

* Be a positive role model for my children in terms of exercise and diet.

* Get healthier and avoid the coronary disease and diabetes that plagues so many of my family members

My Program:
The best advice I got from SparkPeople is simply this: Do not commit to do anything on your weight loss journey that you are not willing to commit to for life. That's the key to sustainable, healthy weight loss.

I moved onto stage 4 of SP, and I'm still happy with the program and can honestly say I feel better than I have in years.

Nutrition:

* If I eat it, I own it.

* Use the food tracker on a daily basis.

*HONESTLY record everything I eat.

* Plan my meals for the day ahead of time, make adjustments as needed to eat on plan.

Fitness:

* use exercise tracker

* 40 minutes of cardio at least five days a week (it's scheduled M-F but many weeks I end up starting on Sunday so I have a day in ahead of schedule in case life gets in the way) (usually walking, wii fit or just dance for the wii)

* 20 minutes of strength training M W F

* I also use a pedometer and currently average about 7400 step

You should totally give it a try! I had never been a runner either (unless being chased) but it's been really gradual. You start off just alternating between running one minute and walking one and half minutes. I love too that it's self paced. If you feel you aren't ready to progress yet, just repeat the week until it's easier. I've actually really enjoyed it! Thanks for the comment on my page! :) I'm really proud of myself and it's nice to know that others are impressed with my progress too! What do you like to do for exercise?

Hi I stumbled across your list of mini goals on a message board and was impressed. I feel like we have similar goals. I haven't been making the progress lately that I wish I was and I think it is because I haven't been trying. I was tracking everything but lately have not. And in turn have been staying around the same weight. I too live in the steeler nation. :) That was funny that you live in pittsburgh as well. Thanks for some extra motivation and I think I should embrace the mini goals. I still have around 30 lbs to loose and at this point doesn't seem possible. The baby steps might help. emoticon
