[[[ The Past ]]]

Always been big since I was a kid.
I believed the hype....

"its your metabolism..."
"you are just big boned..."
"thats genetic, just accept it.."
"you should be happy the way you are"

All deadly things to accept or believe as any form of informed reality.

I have tried losing weight numerous times...prior to this time, had some success in 2003 and got down to 240 but I fell off the fitness wagon due to a bad breakup with my now ex-gf of 2.5 years went into "denial and sabotage mode" and gained it all back and then some.. then pushed being healthy out of my mind.

Fast forward about 1.5 years at my most out of shape ever.. Nov 25, 2005, i woke up with a pain in my back and neck and was really angry about my state of affairs.. i had many things going for me and my health or lack thereof was reducing my quality of life ...i did not feel like a creative entrepreneur but rather like an out of shape loser.. i decided enough was enough.

Much like when i decided to quit smoking cold turkey back in 2002 (i was a pack a day for 6 years).. i decided while staring myself down in the mirror, to kick my a$$ in whatever way necessary to do this thing this time around.

i went about it hardcore... between nov 05- june 06 lost a steady 10 lbs a month.. at the 6 month mark i knew i needed regular support and access to people with similar goals and after searching around i stumbled across Spark.

[[[ The Present: ]]]

A community is exactly what I found... since my nutrition is a mix of many different things i have combined together that I have found to work for me i use Spark mainly for the unmatched community.

I have met a number of great people in the months I have been on here and hope to meet many more.

[[[ The Future ]]]

i plan on moving out to California in 2007. i always loved the beach and i wanna be able to always be in close proximity the ocean and water fun. some of my goals/to-dos for next year include skydiving, learning how to surf, completing races (triathlons and biking), getting a 6 pack, working on a V shaped torso, growing my business, traveling abroad as much as possible and meeting the one right girl instead of various wrong ones. ^_^

Here's to everyone's success!

Happy New Year :) Hope you are staying on track! And you are so right...responsibilities other than yourself make this a LOT harder!

thanks ppl.. for some reason its MUCH harder for me to stay on track.. but doing what i can.. too much travel and lots of work making it MUCH more challenging...

To those of you doing this as full time parents and going doing a job at the same time and or other stressful responsibilities i salute you.. my first time through i was a single guy, driven and a bachelor with very low stress on the job side so it was SO much easier!

I had to go back and find your message board posts to see what is up.
We are kinda in the same boat...but we are both here again, taking care of business.

Awesome.
