I'm a missionary in Honduras. No scale here.
7/31/08 - In the U.S. for almost a month now. Hard to get used to it, actually!
8/4/08 - I guess I need to put a better autobiography on here. I'm married; just turned 50 in June. I have four children, five grandchildren and one grandchild on the way. My husband and I went to Honduras in 2002 to help underprivileged children in a bilingual Christian school. We loved it so much that after our year commitment was up, we returned again. Our stay was cut short last year when my husband, Roy, was diagnosed with lymphoma. We had sold our home in NW Indiana and we then decided to purchase a home in southern Tennessee to have for retirement. After Roy finished chemo, we returned to Honduras, but it was too hard for him there.
We have now returned to the U.S. and are settling into our home in Tennessee; we love it here, but we need to make friends, find a church, and get involved. We plan to continue working with Disciple Makers, the mission that built the school in Honduras. Disciple Makers has asked us to be Coordinators of the Latin American schools. That will involve finding U.S. teachers to commit for a year or more in Honduras, finding school books and other materials for the schools, and helping with mission teams to go to Honduras.
Now for my hobbies. I love to read, and I think I have talent as a writer, if I would just take the time to do it. Last year I took a class in one-stroke painting because I wanted to teach the kids in Honduras how to paint. I wound up loving that and my instructor even said I was better than some instructors she knew. I love to bake, and I enjoy doing research. I have been blessed to be able to use most of my talents for God.
I need to lose weight not only for the usual reasons, but because I have arthritis and it makes it very hard to do certain things. I know the weight loss would help that.
Lose 60 pounds.
Become more active.
Read my Bible at least 5 days every week.
Write a book.
Accept the support of SP.
Become more disciplined.
Eat more fruits and veggies.
Married, four children, five grandchildren (soon to be six), a Christian, and I live in southern Tennessee.
I love trying to follow the Lord's leading, though sometimes I think He chose the wrong person for the job!

I read your bio and was totally blessed. You are an amazing person. I know what you mean about thinking God chose the wrong person, but we know that doesn't happen. Keep following His lead. My 17 year old daughter has been in Mexico since Saturday fora mission trip with her school and is coming back this Sunday. I am so excited for her. She is learning a lot and growing in the Lord. You are doing a great job with your weight loss. Keep up the good work!
