Going back to a mostly low fat vegetarian/vegan diet. I say mostly because I am not going to freak out over the occasional fish, meat, or fat. I won�t make a habit of it. The low carb diet just didn�t work for me. I didn�t lose weight, didn�t have more energy, and didn�t have less joint stiffness. And I am working on the exercise.

August 1, 2013
After losing over 22 pounds from the middle of March 2011 to August 2011 by eating a low fat vegan diet (Eat To Live). While not being 100% perfect, it was fairly easily and didn�t find the lack of meat and dairy as hard as I had thought it would be. However, my cholesterol numbers jumped up dramatically and my doctor was unhappy. After a year and a half, I didn�t really want to go without meat and dairy for the rest of my life and it is extremely difficult to maintain socially in this part of the country. So, I started having meat, dairy, and oil more often. Over the next year I gained 6 pounds back.

Next I switched to eating a low-carb (Paleo type) diet and within two weeks my cholesterol number had dropped significantly. My doctor was happy, but the weight started back up.


December 28, 2011 - I am proud of myself for the progress I have made in the last half of 2011. I have lost 22+ pounds by mostly following the Eat To Live plan and find it fairly easy to do. Now, I need to add muscle while losing 5 more pounds.

I need to find an exercise plan that I will stick to the same way I found Eat To Live. Something I enjoy enough to do continuously. I need muscle strength to both look better and to relieve the back pain.
