As the daughter of a model, I thought "health" meant starvation and "exercise" was the equivalent of punishment. Neither of those concepts made sense to me. So I ate with guilt and hardly ever exercised. The weight accumulated, my self image deteriorated, and I alternated between dieting and being resigned to staying overweight. SparkPeople changed my whole perspective. Now health and fitness are about ME, who I am, and where I want to be in the future. Taking control of my weight wasn't just about some number on a scale; it was about taking control of my life.

My Goals:
- being healthy and in shape FOR LIFE

- maintaining a low percentage body fat

- developing a positive and encouraging attitude towards myself and others

My Program:
- running six times a week

- strength training every day except Thursday

- cycling and elliptical for crosstraining

- trying out new forms of exercise and inserting fitness into everyday activities

- monitoring and balancing calorie, carb, protein, fat, cholesterol, fiber, and nutrient intake

- keeping a water bottle constantly filled and at my side. sipping is the key to hydration!

- eating fresh fruits and veggies and complex carbs
