Okay... so I finally decided I had to put an end to the defeatist attitude about weight loss! After listening to me, my friends, my sister and my daughter talk about weight issues I snapped… I was not going to let this hold me down any more!

I have struggled with weight my whole life: Gaining and loosing and regaining enough weight to make a few good sized versions of myself. It seems to be the one thing that I couldn’t control- but that just cannot be true- not anymore.

I have struggled with weight my whole life: Gaining and loosing and regaining enough weight to make a few good sized versions of myself. It seems to be the one thing that I couldn’t control- but that just cannot be true- not anymore.

It is not my metabolism and it is not my genes: It is in my control. There is nothing and nobody but me keeping me from achieving my goals!

My grandma used to tell me ‘If it is going to be, then it is up to me” well grandma was right---

It is up to me!

Success is a year-round choice. You must decide what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it. No one else can, will, or should do that for you.

The moral of the story is – Don’t let one night of gluttony, one weekend of debauchery, a vacation of unwholesome habits, consume your thoughts and defeat you. All is not lost, you can only fail if you never try!

Yummmm...marzipan, LOVE IT! And I also loved your insightful and wise comment to Coach Dean: "Nature takes three months off every year to repair, why is it that humans feel they cannot. You do not have to give up nature, just learn to enjoy it sitting on the beach or lying in the grass. There is much to be learned in stillness." WOW -- you were inspired!

Do you perchance have Scandinavian roots?

Blessed be!
Maha
P.S. You wrote a blog in 2008 about your love of white bread. I discovered whole wheat and whole spelt SOUR DOUGH BREAD -- I don't know if you have a source, but it is incredibly delicious. The problem is being moderate. We have a nearby bakery that bakes in brick ovens classic European recipes, all sour dough products. What a great find that was!

Hi it was so nice to meet you and your hubby today on our walk. I like meeting face to face, and the walks are a good way to do that. Hope to see you next month.
