My husband Ben and I got married July 7, 2007, after dating for almost four years to the day. He's been a wonderful inspiration for me and I've lost over 40 pounds since we started dating (it was about 55, but I've gained a little since the wedding).

I've always been overweight and struggled with dieting my entire life. I recently discovered that I do enjoy exercise. Ben and I spin together once a week and we try to work out together at least four additional times per week. He's diabetic and the workouts help keep his blood glucose levels under control.

Professionally, I'm a Senior Communications Specialist with a large company in the Pittsburgh, PA area. I spent seven years in a similar position/title for a large consumer electronics manufacturing company. I have a long commute, so it's sometimes difficult to motivate myself to get to the gym. Setting goals and taking group exercise classes is often how I get there. :)

I'm doing a weight-loss program at my gym. It's an eight-week program with weigh-ins, seminars and such. I did it last year and didn't lose a single pound in that eight weeks, but I'd just come off six weeks with a personal trainer so I think my body was at a plateau.

I also just finished a boot camp and am on a break from that. The next boot camp begins in April. During my first time around I lost 48 seconds off my mile run, gained 10 pushups and 15 situps.

I should point out that my weigh-loss ticker is revised. My real starting weight was 240+ but the ticker is from when I started really keeping track. For a long time I didn't care to know what the scale said.
