God has everything in control.
This is me now ... In a year I'll post a new one and we'll just see the difference God can make.

Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
I have been overweight for a lot of years and have ruined my health in the process. I would love to talk to people like me. Perhaps we can help each other.
Just to share a little more about myself ... I am a 59 year old widow with 3 kids and 10 grandkids. I am, first and foremost, a Christian. I place all my goals in God's capable hands and trust Him to lead me. I live in an apartment with my 2 little dogs, Pippino Jose Miguel Manuel Rodriquez Lick ... Pippy for short; and Princessa Carmelita Boonita Lick ... Boo for short. They provide me a wealth of company, comfort, and entertainment. I thank God for my little dogs and we are having Babies at the end of August.
I am currently retired, due to some very severe back and leg problems. I have to lose about 150 pounds all together. I will take this in small parts (50 lbs at a time). My weight problems have caused me to be diabetic, have high blood pressure, have severe pain that has been uncontrollable, and to have sleep apnea (which adds to all the previous problems). I am looking into the possibility of getting bariatric surgery. The process involves much counseling and seminars. If I do this it is still at least 6 months away.
Despite all these problems, I refuse to give in. God is helping me to get back into shape so that I can go back to work. I have been a social worker for 20 years and can't wait to get back to it. While waiting I have been keeping my mind very active by earning an on-line MBA, and I was working on a PhD in human services (Managing Non-Profit Organizations), but ran out of funds ... still, I obtained some valuable skills and info from this study experience. I currently hold a BA in Behavioral Science (Social Work and Psychology majors, Religion and Art minors), a Masters in Counseling Psychology, and the MBA already mentioned.
Oh my, what else can I say? I love hiking, but am unable to do so right now. I enjoy drawing and painting, writing, my grandchildren and Pippy and Boo.
May God bless each of you as you work toward your own goals. If God is for us, who can be against us?
